The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.
It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.
Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!
Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!
Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!
And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

when i cancel the line,will they unlock the device?
You pay full price for new device . So by default it's unlocked. You can cancel line immediately after you receive mail in rebate.
thats interesting. so based on what you are saying its doable. BUT the phone is tied to the new SIM. which could be an issue in the future i guess right? i will have the new phone with my old sim and my son would have a different phone with the new sim so this could be an issue in some corner cases but i guess we could switch sims at the last second before we needed to change or upgrade or something right?
How long do you need to add the line for? When can I cancel? What's the extra cost? Considering the 11 128gb model or the 256gb pro model. I'm already a TMobile member on a family plan.

all plans should qualify. for simple choice the costco rep has to call t-mobile with a "token" code to add the line as their system doesn't allow it.
