Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.

Don't think I was clear. I currently pay for two lines. My understanding is I'd have to add a third to get this deal. Could I immediately cancel one of my current lines after adding the third to my plan as long as I'm ok with getting a new number etc.
Re read my reply to you. Once the rebate company starts to process your trade in, they will see you canceled a line even though you have a new number. So you have voided the agreement.

But hey, who knows, maybe someone got away with it before. I personally never read someone doing this...and I have been fairly active in the previous 'free' xr deals.

Is there a way to get out of the last year's iPhone on us promotion, I bought an iPhone xs max with 750 in monthly credit plan with trade-in and a new line.

getting 20 credit every month and the phone is locked to Tmobile so I suppose there is no way to trade on that phone.

if someone found a way to trade the device on last year's t-mobile promotion please let me know.
If I remembered correctly, you could cancel the line and keep the credit going with that promo by contacting tmobile. You probably will need to pay off the phone first, but monthly credit will stay. And you can always unlock your phone after owning it for longer than 40 days, I believe. However, why you want to trade in a XR for this deal, not slick at all.

Yes this deal gives you the credit back after 2-3 months instead of spreading it out over 24 monthly bill credits.

Once you get the card you can cancel the line and use on any carrier you want.
...after you trade in a phone with a minimum value of $200. Not seeing the deal here

you'll have to check the terms from the offer/contact cs to make sure.
i added free lines through a similar offer few years back, and that stipulated no line cancellations for 1 year.
I was told the same thing by tmobile rep. Any changes to the plan within a year of getting a free line, will basically remove free line first.

Is there any reason the phone actually has to be active on the lines while waiting for the rebate? IE, if I switch to Tmobile and have family members that would like to keep using their existing (compatible) android devices, can I just swap the sim card? Usually everything is associated with the line rather than the phone, but I wouldn't want to jeopardize a rebate this size.

Talking about payment methods, is it best to pay with Chase Ink Cash (biz card) since I believe that offers additional protection to the phones (planning to get two new ones tomorrow/Sunday)?

Just went to Costco. The guy there says you can switch the sim card as long as it's t mobile. And the phone can be unlocked as everybody tells here. But I don't think he totally understands/take responsibility if you lose the rebate. He probably will say 'sorry I don't know why, but that's how T mobile works'. As someone in this thread says the customer service rep tells him the sim is not in the device (so they can detect that?). There may be a risk. I am not sure, just sharing my understanding.

Yes, does not work, went to the store and was rejected. Their system does not allow to go to next steps with the plan. Was told I could change my plan but didn't want to.
