2. How to Redeem Your Offer

2. Trade-in an eligible device.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.
It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.
Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!
Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!
Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!
And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

We currently have two line, so if I add a new line and trade in a 6s plus; We get a small bill credit and the rest on a virtual Visa card. Do I need to pay for the phone outright when i get it or do I have to finance it though their company or is it just billed monthly on my existing t mobile bill? I understand the rebate offsetting the cost of the phone but I don't know how the phone is paid for in the first place.

Can I downgrade the plan to talk and text after coming out of costco?
No, you can't downgrade to Voice only, as this time T-MOBILE has changed the rules and they want you to be on one off the plan they have listed in terms and conditions (refer wiki)
