Like the guy that wanted to cancel 2 days after purchasing the phone

I know what it's like to need a 'fast' answer for some of these deals that you randomly find and don't have much time to search. But for this type of deal, it's not like it's a fast type of deal since you have to find an old iPhone for trade in. So there IS time for them to find info out, they are just lazy.
Honest question. Are you getting compensated in any way for sticking around this thread? I don't know too many people in this World that would stick around this thread this long and answer repeatedly this many questions unless you are compensated for your time here.

I wish.
People get paid to be on here?
I've found some great deals on this site and have been helped out before. That's one reason I don't mind helping. For example, In the past years I have found threads regarding trade ins. ATT and tmobile had a blackberry trade in deal years ago where you'd get $200 gift cards for OLD blackberry phones. There was a point where you could turn in a $5 used blackberry curve for $200. I got cool with some reps and they didn't care how many trades I did, I would even give them blackberry phones to trade in themselves.

And then I found a thread regarding iPhone 4's being traded in at apple for $200 gc's...same thing.
Those are just 2 small examples of deals that I am still benefiting from.

So I guess this is a way of giving back to the community since I have been lucky to have stumbled on threads like that.

Personally I think it is called passion. When you devote yourself so much to something, you get hooked, willingly or unwillingly. Even though I didn't answers lot of questions compared to Chaoss, I see I posted over 40 questions. Just remind you that I so far have totally posted 300 messages since 2010. So just in a week or so, I increased that by over 10%. I call that significant.

I also scanned my Costco documents, delete my information, and uploaded them to Wiki. Just yesterday, I re-organized the Wiki (hope someone notice that).

I wish I got paid by someone, but it is OK if I am not. I just love what I am doing. But just don't happen too often otherwise, my boss and my wife will start to complain...

I have the same thought process when it comes to help. Its far and few that you encounter people who WANT to help genuinely that you meet and reflect back on those people regardless how you met them. With that said, I've read through about 70% of this thread (mainly from the 1st to the 5th), answered here and there with my experiences and knowledge with 611/Costco Reps and past TMO promo experiences in recent years.

But I do have an obligation to my Family and Employer first before just about anyone. So that's where the question came from really.

ps - I work IT Support for 13 years. I learned no matter how much you document and communicate, old and new bodies will usually not bother reading or taking a step back and think before asking everything that comes to mind OR will keep going to you for all questions that can be answered by simply (reading or getting with a representative on the phone).

Hi guys. Anybody went to any Costco stores in Connecticut yesterday. I chat with Costco representative and they told me that stock is available. And when I went to directly to store they said that they don't have any phones available. Want to make sure before heading for different store. Thank you in advance

I don't want to pretend to be a saint to help others. It is not a painful experience at all. Actually I feel the feeling of accomplishment when I answered their questions. It is similar to the feeling that you want to reach the end of the game once you like it.

With that said, low quality questions will dilute that feeling and you are tired of replying them. I wish someone can come out and sort the content and put the common questions in the FAQ of Wiki. It could save unnecessary questions. I don't have time to devote that much more time even though I am still watching this thred from my company computer....OK, got to go.

Yeah, I get not wading through 130 pages to find the single time a question was answered, my frustration comes when the answer is clearly in the first post or second one (wiki). If you can't even be bothered to read that much of the thread why would you expect any help??

as for cancelling in two days... well I have to admit I did that on last year's Sams club deal. Bought a Verizon iphone XS on a new installment plan, then paid off the phone that afternoon and cancelled the service on day 2 in order to avoid activation and service charges beyond the first two days. At the time Verizon phones were unlocked for other carriers from day-one -- but that's apparently no longer true.

This is where the Search feature comes in handy. It should be promoted more by Admins as a pop up on most discussions. Early on in the thread, I wanted to see how many posts were related to "simple choice", "SC", "grandfather".

Got my hits, got my answer. If people can adapt this thinking, repeated answers would be much less. It also breads the idea that you can probably do this in other places. Boom, you just increased your IQ on content searching lol

1. Click Forum Thread on the top of the comments
2. Use Search Thread button
3. Type in multiple keywords to hit those comments (eg "SC" "Simple Choice" "Flex"
