Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.
iPhone 8 through Apple gets you $220
iPhone XS through Apple gets you $500

iPhone 8 through this Costco deal gets you $580
iPhone XS through this Costco deal gets you $580

All right So here is what I did & waste my half of day at Costco.

1. Using this plan I trade in Iphone-7 (128 GB) for $70 ( this is what they calcualted)
2. Opted for unlimited plan $60/month ( with tax it will reach $65)
3. Got an Iphone -11 (128 GB) $749.00 ( Including all taxes, they discounted $70 upfront)
4. Associate told me that I will get 580-70 = $510 on Gift card.

So far things were all right and I was happy. Then I read this slick deal thread & did my calculation back , here is what I curated.

- I would need to wait for at least 3 months to get my GC ( worth $510) BUT ( yes a big but) until then I would be paying approximate $200 ( 3 months of bill of this line including all taxes) , out of which $70 will applied as credit of my I phone 7.

- Now actual saving would be $510(GC) - $200(3 Months bill) + $70 (tradein credit) = $380 ( still sounds fair right ?)
- Actually No , I am trading in Iphone 7 too ( still thinking about it) , Market value of Iphone 7 is roughly $250 ( unless you do funny trade in like this ) hence my rough estimation says all I am saving here is $380-$250( I can do happy trade-in on this price)= $130

I'm going to return it as I am sure I will save more then that on some Black Friday deal , if not at least I will keep my I phone 7 which I bought at $899 ( 2 years back)

you could have just read some of this thread and see that this is common and it is not the best way to go. If you go this way, you might as well open up a few more lines so that you can sell an extra 11 to make up your cost.

This deal is BEST for people who already have a tmobile account that qualifies. For example, Tmobile one. An extra line is about $20-$25 with tax...so that would be $75 for 3 months of service. (Possibly $50 if the rebate comes early).
Also, it's best to get the cheapest trade in phone possible. In this case, the iPhone 6s. I have purchased the 6s from past deal for as low as $40. You could have done something similar, purchased one at $100, and sold the 7 plus on your own (assuming you would get $250 on your own as you stated, you would have saved at least $150 if you purchased a 6s at $100).

Or you can buy a used 6s (~$100) to trade in, your net saving will be around $280. IMO still decent since you get GC instead of monthly credit on this deal.

Did you ever get your phone? I'm in the same T Mo plan as you, and am contemplating getting the Pro. Thanks! (I don't trust those Costco phone reps!)
Yes I did get the 11 64gb as they had no stock on 128. Got the magenta 55. Filled the rebate form on line just got the invoice for my first month of service $50. They;; deduct $33 for the iphone 6s trade in and hopefully ill have the difference in a GC in a couple months. I'll stay with them for the 3 months..or more . The good thing about TMO is if you travel abroad you get data and text included. Tho data is 3G i think.

After all I think it was a good deal! Now I'm still getting used with the iphone and the greedy ass apple. iCloud storage bS. Just backed my pics to Google photos and the rest is managing and getting used to the iOS.

This question is LITERALLY ANSWERED AS ITEM #1 IN THE FAQ in the Wiki on page #1 of this thread.

I still think it is pretty decent, again depends on the scenario, in my case I have an iPhone 6s plus and an iPhone 7 32 gb and I traded those in signed up for an essentials plan and got two iPhone Xrs.

paid 1172 incl taxes (for the two iPhone XRs) + value of iPhone 6s plus if I sell on my own (100) + value of iPhone 7 32GB if I sell on my own (150) + tmobile fees 90 per month for 2 - 3 months.

out of pocket: 1622

get back

1060 + 36 (3% cash back) + 50 (t-mobile advantage)

kind of puts me at 288$ per phone for a new iPhone XR, which is not bad,

Hey Guys see if this normal as a timeline for the Rebate:

sent the 6s, waited 2 days then went to the rebate site filed the form and sent on 11/8. Went back to the site to check Status.

They said all was good and wait for processing on the site info. In the bottom it just said RECEIVED

Is that how it goes?

I haven't checked the tracking on the 6s yet but I assume they have received at Assurion

Yes, I see that. Thanks for confirming. Since it requires a hefty sum, I was really scared to jump in without verifying again. Thanks for the pointer

I agree with you !
But just out of curiosity, I wonder how are these 2 steps related?
I mean why do they want us to "submit online" as well since anyway we are shipping the old phone out? The online trade-in process is already (almost) done at the kiosk by the store guy right?
And if they really want a record in their "online system", rather than asking us to do it, why not just add 1 more step at the kiosk so the Costco guy can do this for us in like 30 more seconds? Anyway we are just uploading the Costco Receipt and the box-back pic right? We have both at the time we are at the Costco anyway!!!
I am asking this because when I did the similar deal in the TMo store (with 24 months credit of course), those guys did EVERYTHING themselves including the old phone shipping so I had NOTHING to do from my side !!!

Bought iPhone 11 on 11/03, sent in my iPhone 6S from Total Wireless on 11/04, got a text message from T-mobile this morning $36 had been credited to my account. I checked my account online, my payment due on 11/24 has been reduced by $36.
Bought my iPhone at the 2nd and mailed the trade in on the 4th.. tracked the package and it was received last thursday.. still haven't received their text.. should I worry or just wait for a bit more?

Other's have mentioned trading in the cheaper phone, especially if you can get $250 for your Iphone 7 (would probably fetch $150 here in Phoenix area). But another thing to look at is you are calculating 3 months worth of service with TMobile service at $200. Since you would begetting service from TMobile, you have to subtract what you would have paid for service with your current provider So if you're currently paying $50/month for cell phone service, you need to add that $150 savings. So that $130 price you notated above is actually $280 with your math.

Do I need to have trade-in devices on hand to do this deal?

If i buy online 6s now and i receive later this week *after the 14th), it's too late, right?
