Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

They may have started this new strategy so people don't cancel their lines after getting rebates and those salesman keep their commission.

I am in the same boat. I need new devices for 3 people on my current Simple choice T-mobile plan. T-Mobile will allow you to have more than one account under your name? I don't want to touch the Simple choice plan. Should I tell the Costco rep that I'm already a T-Mobile customer and I'm adding a new account? Or do i have to act like I don't already have T-Mobile. I will be buying iPhones cash from Walmart to trade-in. Not using phones I already have on my simple choice plan.
I'm wondering the same. Thinking of creating a new Magenta account dedicated for work. Then after getting the new phone, can I ask for it to be converted to an eSIM and then pop in the physical SIM from my previous phone? That way, technically still using the new handset with the new Magenta plan on eSIM, but also with my old plan?

I bought a Straight Talk iPhone 6s at Walmart to trade in. (My wife has a 6s she needs to upgrade, but is travelling for work right now.)

Do you know - do we need to activate it before trading it in? Or can we just send it in as-is?

I've been trying to read back, and other Straight Talk/ Tracfone threads, but this thread is crazy long now.

Thanks! Smilie Wave

I have a spare 6s that is unlocked but no number on it. Can I port my GV number, get the magenta for 3 months, get an iphone 11 keep it in the box and sell it brand new after I receive my card? What kind of profit am I looking at?

Idk. I wasn't planning to activate them. But it's a moot point for me. According to the chat rep, ALL the Costcos in my city are sold out of 11s which is what I wanted. I don't want to do bill credits for the trade in which would be required if you don't get phones in hand same day.

I just wanted to open a separate account with 3 phones/lines and cancel after I got the rebate card. I wasn't planning to sell the iPhone 11s. I need them.

So now I'm hoping with all my might that there's a good device offer on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

So looks like unless you have been lucky enough to grab the deal already, it is practically dead as new stock will not arrive in time. So was looking for other options. Does anyone have details of the BestBuy upto $500 off deal on iPhone? No T-Mobile there, but Verizon would be OK for me. How do they evaluate the "upto" part - the deal was open last weekend I tried to check, but did not quite understand what they would offer for iPhone 6s!

They offered to "order" the phones for me too. Bill credits.... EEK!EEK!

I actually want to stay with T-Mobile, but I need to make sure it will work first. Very weak signal here, only AT&T really works as-is. I will need an amplifier, but could save $60 a month.

++++

The best iPhone option I have seen so far is a $500 Best Buy trade-in for "qualified activations." On AT&T (and Sprint), starting 11/22.

Not a lot of details yet, but Best Buy has been giving the credit up front. It has also applied to upgrades, not just new lines.

Similar strategy to adding new T-Mobile? AT&T will unlock once paid in full.

Good luck! Smilie
