And I can't remember the last time I needed to seal a hole on a plastic cup I was using. It probably would have been quicker just to get another cup and pour it into the other cup.

Is this caulk endorsed by Wiley Coyote? I had to seal some old sneakers' rubber bottom, but I just used some gorilla glue I had from 3 years ago.. still some left for the far in between uses, but the glue is drying up.. the metal pin doesn't apparently seal/seat correctly after dozens of uses.

It's not silicone, it's rubberized (bitumen, what they use to make EPDM based roofing materials).
There are advantages and disadvantages over silicone. If you're looking for a highly elastic, temperature stable sealant this is very good. It's a bit overpriced as there are other bitumen based sealants, and it's overkill for a lot of uses (a cheap tube of silicone will seal your bathtub just fine). For where this is handy though it's worth the premium.
I've never tried this product, but their tape is pretty good.
Also BJ's have 2 packs for $20.
