Always spend your credits ASAP!

I have been doing these surveys for several years and rarely used the money in my account. I was saving it up. A couple of days ago, Google took out over $47 with no explanation. After about an hour on the phone with someone from Google that was probably in India, I still have no satisfaction.

They are saying the credits expired. That is not what is in the terms. There was no warning or explanation. Everytime I did a survey I remember it saying that the credits expire one year from the last survey you took. They arbitrarily removed them and I just noticed that some of the terms look different now than they were a few days ago.

The rep said if enough people complained, we might be able to get a credit. Here is where I contacted them: https://support.google.com/pay/an...c=7644061#

If I knew they were going to be taken away I would of used them way before this. Also, if they expire after a certain time then they would not of let them accumulate and then just wipe them all out. It looks to me like they changed their terms without telling anyone and are taking back any unused credits.

" Everytime I did a survey I remember it saying that the credits expire one year from the last survey you took."

That's not quite the way it works. Every credit you earn expires after a year after being earned. It's been like that as long as I've been using it, so probably about 2 years.

Edit: I actually found a slickdeals thread from someone mentioning this change just about 2.5 years ago. They were able to get Google to reinstate their credits and extend the expiration, but that's a definite YMMV, especially since they were complaining about it close to when the terms changed.

Good luck!

There appears to be a bug within their system. I have confirmed with a chat rep that the rewards balance expires 1 year after the most recent reward is earned. I lost $40 within the last 4 days and I have another $40 that is set to expire 11-9-19. This can't be normal activity on the rewards balance.

Here is another resource for contacting them: https://support.google.com/audiencemeasurement/contact/support?hl=en&cfsi=email_support&cfnti=366261... [google.com]

Seems like a pretty rampant issue that google is handling very poorly: https://support.google.com/googleplay/thread/4176249?hl=en

I do believe they expire after one year. You need to buy something to keep your credits. Saving long-term isn't good. I've been doing this for a while to and I've never lost any credits.

What does it say under your history. If they screwed you, leave negative feedback.

That's the biggest crock of this issue is that there is no history. The rewards just disappear without a trace and there is no way to see what happened to them.

I've found with any rewards it's best to not bank them. Best to cash out as soon as you can. What I do is bank them in my amazon account where they won't expire.

You're banking Google Rewards poll rewards to Amazon? How? I thought they were only good for digital goods.

I've used most of mine to buy decent kids' apps and more recently to buy gold in Wizards Unite, but if you can bank them to Amazon, that would be good to know. That's what I do with any and all rebate gift cards.

Ugh. I just checked and I definitely have had some credits expire. But I can't figure out how many credits expired and when they were taken away from my balance. Does anyone have an idea how to see past expiration amounts and dates?

The best thing I can find is looking at the activity via payments.google.com. But that only shows actual ITEMS purchased, not expired credits.

I use mine to pay for Google One subscription. How can we find out when they expire? I just see reward history in the options.

Using the Google Play Store App, if you go to the Payment Methods menu item, you'll see your total Google Play Balance and the next expiring amount & date.

I haven't been able to figure out how to see already expired amounts that have been deducted, though.

All of mine expire, over $35, on 11/15/19. I've been using this app for years and never had a single amount expire. Thanks for this post. I was shocked they're now instituting this rule. I just did a survey yesterday, so that's clearly no longer the rule.
