Always need to consider the transfer fee for balances transfers, and should be included in this post.

"There is a balance transfer fee of either $5 or 3% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater."
EDIT FROM MAY 2021-- THIS POST IS TWO YEARS OLD. THE CARD IT MENTIONS IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE TO BE OPENED.

PLEASE STOP REPLYING TO A TWO YEAR OLD POST WONDERING WHY YOU CAN NOT FIND THIS SPECIFIC CARD/DEAL ANYMORE.

Chase Slate is only 15 months but 0% balance transfer fee.

The slate itself sucks as a card to actually use for anything other than the BT, but if you're mainly concerned about the BT, and the 3 extra months won't kill you, it saves you 3% of however much you're transferring over this... plus once you're done with the BT you can product change it into a genuinely useful card like a Freedom or something.
After years of being on airline miles cards I switched to this card. I am very happy with it. Airline miles are worth an average of 1.3 cents per dollar spent these days. This card is worth 2 cents per dollar to me as a shopper. It takes VERY little effort to redeem the 2% cash back. I enjoy the value and simplicity of this card. I find the citi web site and mobile app to be stronger than alternative bank sites and apps. I don't have the time or desire to manage multiple cards.

Do you have other chase cards? you can usually transfer your limit from one to another (chase will typically only extend a certain amount of TOTAL credit across all your lines with them)

same here.. they only gave me a $4K limit.. but I'm using it for the free 15 months... I basically transferred and divide my balance across 14 months (to give me 1 month of room to fully pay).. then hope to change the CC type.

Thinking of cancelling this card just because of all the spam when I log in to the website to check on my other Citi (Costco) card.

Don't worry, they'll eventually raise your limit, and then constantly spam you with FlexLoan and 0% for 10 month APR offers every time you log in to the website.

Nope, as long as you transfer within 60 days of opening. However, I only got a $800 limit, so not as useful if you have a large balance you need to pay off. YMMV on limit though.

Use this as my primary card and USAA AMX for all AAFES purchases (5% instant cash back).

I believe Citi dropped the extended warranty feature so for large items that need a warranty you may want to use a different card. Price match was nice while it lasted.

I only use my Costco Citi card for Costco purchases - gas is 4%

June last year I switched my go-to card from Discover to this 2% cash back on everything all the time - working great for me.

Chase is far more conservative with their credit lines than Citi. You may get no fee with the Slate, but they might only give you a credit line on $5,000.

<< this is very true.

I think it's normally 5 percent

This card? No, it's 3%

It's in the very first post in the thread.

The slate in contrast is 0%/$0 for the balance transfer- hence a better card if you're specifically getting it for BT purposes.

I am looking for a day-to-day purchase card (along with my AMEX BCP card). How does this citi double cash card compares to the CapitalOne Venture or any other cash that gives 2% back in cash or reward miles?
