Always need to consider the transfer fee for balances transfers, and should be included in this post.

"There is a balance transfer fee of either $5 or 3% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater."
EDIT FROM MAY 2021-- THIS POST IS TWO YEARS OLD. THE CARD IT MENTIONS IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE TO BE OPENED.

PLEASE STOP REPLYING TO A TWO YEAR OLD POST WONDERING WHY YOU CAN NOT FIND THIS SPECIFIC CARD/DEAL ANYMORE.

(above added after like the 6th person in a year necroed this discussion to reply to this post- original post from 2019 below)

Chase Slate is only 15 months but 0% balance transfer fee.

The slate itself sucks as a card to actually use for anything other than the BT, but if you're mainly concerned about the BT, and the 3 extra months won't kill you, it saves you 3% of however much you're transferring over this... plus once you're done with the BT you can product change it into a genuinely useful card like a Freedom or something.
After years of being on airline miles cards I switched to this card. I am very happy with it. Airline miles are worth an average of 1.3 cents per dollar spent these days. This card is worth 2 cents per dollar to me as a shopper. It takes VERY little effort to redeem the 2% cash back. I enjoy the value and simplicity of this card. I find the citi web site and mobile app to be stronger than alternative bank sites and apps. I don't have the time or desire to manage multiple cards.

At 2%, I would probably get the WellsFargo Active Cash. Or maybe Fidelity Visa.
https://creditcards.wellsfargo.co...edit-card/

At 2.5% there's also Farmers Crystal Visa, which starts at 3% first 12mo.
https://figfcu.org/crystal-visa

Best one I found is AOD at 3% Visa Signature but too much signup friction.
https://www.aodfcu.com/visa-signa...edit-card/

What do you mean by signup friction? Is AODCU account a must to open the AOD CC?

Slow, manual process. First signup to affiliated org, apply for membership, send copies of home related utility bills, copy of your social security, drivers license, proof of income and employment, and a selfie picture (creepy). They don't move fast on processing the application. As if they don't want more customers.

I don't believe this is correct. There is a thing called a "Purchase Tracker". It says on my statement "When you make a purchase that amount goes into your purchase tracker. Balance transfers, cash advances and fees are not included. When you make a payment your purchase tracker is reduced by that amount. When your purchase tracker reaches $0 then you won't receive cash back for those payments." I routinely pay prior to the end of the statement and I checked several statements and am getting full cash back on every purchase. I believe the purchase tracker is only to prevent cash back on cash advances, fees and balance transfers.
They are absolutely correct. I called Citi to confirm a while ago. I was paying early as well, and missing out on that additional 1% by doing so. I was very annoyed since I missed out... You have to wait until your statement closes to pay them to earn the additional 1%. It's clear they do this so they end up paying less cash back (because of people doing exactly what I was doing) - and hoping you'll end up not paying and therefore incur finance charges... a bit shady but it is what it is.

I cancelled this card, after they took away all their travel and price protections last month. They also push their new banking service heavily, so you'll get pop-up ads constantly, and a never-ending stream of junk mail pushing their savings account and sending you 'convenience' checks. There's also a minimum redemption for cash back, $25.

I switched to a 1.5% BECU cash back credit card, so I get their decent interest for savings and checking, and the convenience of paying off the card from the same banking app or website, as well as usual credit card protection that Citi eliminated. No spam, no ads, no huge multinational bank that was heavily involved in the subprime mortgage meltdown and received billions in bailout money.
losing a half percent on your purchases (you were making 33% more than you are now)? NO. THANKS.

I don't receive any of the crap you mentioned... and even if I did I could not care less - this is about maximizing cash back only.

Every so often it is something deleted or changed.
Still reading the fine print as it says something about converting to cash.
And it does mater.

What will happen to my existing cash rewards balance?
Any cash rewards balance in your account will be converted to ThankYou® Points. You will receive 1 point for every cent in cash rewards. For example, if you have $10.13 in cash rewards, your rewards will be converted to 1,013 ThankYou® Points — redeemable for a $10.13 statement credit, direct deposit or check.

You'll get the same great cash back value
We know our Citi Double Cash cardholders love earning cash back twice. Here's how it'll work with ThankYou® Points:

1 point per $1 spent on purchases + 1 point per $1 paid on those purchases

You'll have the same cash redemption options you enjoy with Citi Double Cash, but with ThankYou® Points.
So, in April we will see how this works.

It looks like we may get lucky as all you will need to do is do an extra step. Maybe!

The two times I have used points at Amazon it was not a good deal at all. Lost a little value in the transfer.

Too early to make a final judicial decision at this point in time. Just keep your options open. Sometimes I use my BB, USAA, Sam club, card to get additional rebates.

Everyone needs options.

Wells Fargo Active Cash Visa card gives 2% on purchases plus a $200 credit if you spend $1000 in 3 months. Same for FNBO Evergreen Visa.

I am cancelling my two Citi cards and closing my account due to their evil Nazi vaccine mandate for their employees.

Citi forced their employees to choose between their job and a vaccine that has barely been out a year, that doesn't stop you from getting covid, that doesn't stop you from passing covid, that doesn't stop you from getting sick from covid, and doesn't stop you from dying from covid, and that has side effects like blood clots and an enlarged heart causing amputations and death.

Those who mandated it are evil evil people.
No one has ever argued that any particular action would STOP covid, that is just you using disingenuous arguments (since you have nothing factual to offer). You and your flat-earth are clearly fact immune - so citing the actual data is pointless - almost all covid-related deaths now are from people that are unvaccinated. But society has to deal such nonsense such as yours every time there's a pandemic. You can't even stay on topic here... the topic is when to pay your bill - and here you are hysterical about vaccines...
