Anybody else care to mention their battery performance? I saw that someone was getting 8.5 hours. Just hoping to be able to watch movies and surf for flying.

Anyone put in 3200mhz speed Ram? is there a noticeable difference compared to the 2666mhz ram?

Willing to spend a little more if it makes a considerable difference. Do Intel chips scale like AMD chips to faster Ram?

I'm going cheap on the ram since it's for the kids and will add 4gb stick to the existing 4gb. I followed the amazon link a few posts above and saw that they had 4gb single rank and single 4gb rank x 16. Would either work? Or any suggestions for a 4gb stick?

1st question, it will be stated on the outside of box.
2nd question : no touchscreen
3rd question no since you got citi card which gives you 4 years of warranty!

Please get 16 gb stick here so you can utilized full range of memory since win 10 needs at least 16 go minimum.

https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Si...ics&sr=1-1

This way if you feel the need to get another 16gb then you can later on. And for the most part this will be suffice and gives you a total of 20 gen of ram!
You link it dead. Maybe sold out due to slick deal effect

Can you please post a new link or a exact name / part number of the RAM you suggested.

I'm pretty sure it's 14". HP doesn't make a 13.3" version of this line. Only Envy and Spectre have 13.3" versions.

Slightly off topic - HP does not have a user/service manual for this device on its website?
I can only find the specsheet. And no, please don't refer me to the manual of the 2018 version. Based on the images posted so far, the motherboard is clearly different.

I've sent a mail to HP for this. Meanwhile i thought i'd raise this here...
Just catching up on the thread so maybe someone has already posted this, but repair manual is here [hp.com].

Good luck with that 3rd party seller. You might find some grape jelly inside.

No shit! I installed a 16GB stick (total 20GB now) and the CPU passmark jumped to 9458 (from 8020). Memory mark is now at 2794. Disk mark (original disk) and 3D got better too, but 2D dropped a little. Overall my Passmark rating is now 3617, compared to 2847 a couple hours ago. Again, all I did was to add the RAM stick. I'll do the HD tomorrow as it's pretty late now and I need to figure out the best way to dual boot.

What it comes down to is that shipping any system with 4GB of memory these days is nothing more than a scam. Like putting a 40 proof liquor inside a 86 proof "capable" bottle and letting you figure out that you will have to add extra alcohol to get the buzz you were expecting.
It's the impact of dual channel RAM vs single channel RAM - basically the RAM runs at (2666mhz, I assume the stock RAM is..) a more limited speed with only one chip in place; with two, you get full speed. Going from 8000 to 9400 is within the realm of reason for that type of an upgrade.

TLDR: Upgrade RAM to two chips for an easy 15% increase in CPU performance.
