I created an account just to comment. I went to my local Costco and the floor model did not have an i5 processor. I was going to ask to see an actual boxed laptop but it was to busy.

Seemed like a decent built laptop. Very plasticky. Keyboard seemed ok, I didnt experience a ton of flex. Touch pad did have a clicky sound but I hate all laptop touch mads and usually use a Logitch mouse with my laptops.

I'm going to check another Costco near me and then try to order online.

Yes looks like costco is selling the i5-1035g4 version at least today. This laptop WILL work with a 4kp60 external monitor via the hdmi port, even though the box says hdmi1.4.

Reinstalled windows from usb, then had to install realtek driver from earlier in the thread. The kb is nice, however the touchpad will do the 'clicking' sometimes, which is annoying. but this is slightly lower graphics than surface book 3 that is it. And it is like 1/3 the price.

You likely got the wrong model. This one definitely has a backlit keyboard.

Can you post a picture of the side of the box, showing the specs? I have a few of them in my office and they all have a backlit keyboard. Maybe you got the wrong one by mistake or something as there are different variations of this laptop in the market.

Is this a good gaming laptop? Would like to purchase as a gift for a gamer friend.
Definitely not for graphics intensive games. If he's playing games like Minecraft, Fortnite, etc. at low settings, it should be fine. Laptop gets around 80 fps playing League of Legends at High graphics settings if that also helps.

Had this happened to anyone?

Maybe cuz they screwed up the promo and need to cancel it in case ppl complain about wrong product cuz many are not getting i3 but i5 cpu.

How is the i5 processor for some photo editing work?

Photoshop, lightroom, adobe premiere etc?
Runs 4K video from the most recent DSLRs pretty well?

Question for power users: Can I leave a 128 gb SD card in the card reader and use that to hold all data files? Pros and cons?
