Nice to know, why did you buy an extra one?
My wife took the one I already upgraded lol. She was using a 2010 Macbook, so it's definitely an upgrade.

Can Thunderbolt 3 be enabled on these 10th gen Intel notebooks later? I read it's part of the CPU now.

you need this one: 16GB (1x16GB) 2666MHz [amazon.com] is the right speed matching the existing stick, you linked 2400MHz one
Thanks. So 8GB stick in addition to the existing 4 GB would do I guess

Ahh nice to know! Also, when you did a clean install , did you :
  • create a media creation tool
  • Create a bootable win 10 disk
  • Then install windows 10?

Yes unless you want to more or less future proof by add8ng 16gb 1 stick instead of 8gb.

Oh. Okay. I have a couple of friends in the same boat.

If they cancel your order, you have a couple of choices. You may or may not know them. If you know, I apologize but it might help someone else who does not know.
  1. Go to a store with a friend and buy
  2. Have a current member just buy a gift card and you can go into the store with it

Yeah, I used the Media Creation Tool to set up a USB drive. And on that same USB in another folder i had the drivers for the wifi card extracted so that I can use the Network to get out S Mode by using the Windows store.

Give the thread wiki a read. Essentially, HP shipped out i5 version to Costco for sale rather than the described i3. Not any i5 but the i5 G4, which has a better graphics card than the usual 10th gen i5 G1. And given how easy it is to upgrade the RAM and SSD on this computer, this is a steal for the price.
