Guys, there are more than 1000 comments on this forum, can someone help me here? I got the laptop today and it's an i5 but whats the use if it's keeps freezing when on chrome, whats the first thing I need to do reduce the fan sound and also how to turn off the s mode completely , also about the freezing problem, just turned on the laptop but it seems slow. If someone can summarize that would a great help.

With only 4gig of ram don;t use Chrome. Its still a memory hog. Try the new Firefox.

I would still get a 4gb stick of memory to upgrade as 8gb will perform much better.

OK, got two 16GB chips installed and here are the Passmark results.

Code:
Passmark ------ 4GB --- 16GB --- 20GB --- 32GB --- 500GB NVMe(32GB)

Total 2924 3283 3576 3715 4188
CPU 8068 9011 9813 10589 10517
2D 637 573 652 593 653
3D 1068 1390 1635 1853 1712
RAM 1532 2354 2442 2946 2666
SSD 3709 3578 3256 3504 21405
That's over 25% overall bump and 31% on the CPU alone. I'm sure the overall and SSD scores will benefit when I install the 500GB NVMe, but 2D seems stuck on that wobble (if anybody cares).

Images below (updated with 500GB NVMe installed)

What's wrong with barrel connectors? They're cheap, ubiquitous and industry standard. They're just about about the best solution out there. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

Nothing wrong but this particular unit sticks out quite a bit, if only I could re-use the magnetic, slim, low-profile plug from my old macbook pro on this.

If you read at least 5% of this thread you will see people are getting laptops with an i5 processor. Much faster than that laptop

I re-installed to Windows 10 Home using my USB and lost all my drivers.

I am attempting to download the driver from the HP website, however there are some drivers giving me an error that the OS is not supported?

Which drivers do I need to manually download? Please help.

Why people are all over for this laptop, can't we get this kind online deal(around $300 with tax) around bf ? And if you upgrade, it will cost you at least $100 more, doesn't make sense to me.

I don't understand what you mean here.
He means be sure your location's WiFi has different SSIDs for the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. It could be that your laptop's WiFi card is getting confused and keeps dropping and reconnecting to your router or access point.

Is it because the version I installed is 1909?

The drivers from HP is supported with 1903.
