Great price! Thinking about enlisting just to get the deal.
Since we're getting "serious" all of a sudden about acquiring an email to gain veteran's benefits when not having served....

These benefits are given to active/retired military as a small reward for their service. If that's not reason enough to understand the difference between that and .edu discounts, then I have little hope you'll understand.

But to really answer your question, no it's not directly tied to an email address. It's your social security number they check to verify your military service. I guess you can ask a vet to sell you their social security number to buy this item at a discount (lolwut)? Maybe you even have a buddy or two in the military you can ask to buy it for you as a gift?

In my experience, even using billing and shipping information that does not match the owner of the account will raise red flags.

Sincerely,
A Smart-ass who knows the system better than you.
Its a stale Joke from 2012 (when everything had HDMI and no longer was a reason to reject something)

I just bought these a few weeks ago when they were on sale for $274. Will they do a retroactive price adjustment?

EDIT:
"shopmyexchange.com has a 14-Day Price Guarantee on any item originally purchased from shopmyexchange.com and subsequently sold at a lower price by shopmyexchange.com, or select authorized competitors."

Seems like it's only 14 days, but the return policy on headphones is 90 days...

They will do a price adjustment if you ordered it within the last 14 days. If outside that window you'll have to return it and buy it again at the discounted price. I confirmed this with customer service earlier today.

With things like this do they, like, match serial numbers or anything? It seems less dickish of me to buy a new pair and then return that fully resellable, unused pair under the old order number, than to mail back the headphones I've already gotten my cooties on.

I wonder the same thing. I'm assuming if the serial number is on the original box that would be cause for concern. Look for any unique identifiers on the box. I will most likely send back the unopened box if I can.
Also I believe the return window for these is 90 days.

The serial number is indeed on the box. Took me a while to find it on the headphones. But once I did, I found it on a label on the box (underneath the shrink wrap).

I already own these headphones. Is it dumb to get another pair to just leave at work ?

Excellent! Left my last pair in an Uber. Perfect price for me to get a new pair
