I think this is the lowest price I've seen in this. I have had this for about 6 months. My first unit was defective and they replaced it after troubleshooting a bit. Since the replacement it has worked well. It will detect if I have a dripping faucet, I would estimate it detects anything more than one drip per second. Less than that and it may not detect the leak. I plan to add a dome shutoff valve so I can turn off the water main if I'm not home. I looked at the moen all in one solution but the cost of a plumber for install would add significantly to the overall cost.
I purchased this on Prime Day as well and have not had as much luck. I get false positives quite often and after working with their support team it seems as though they are related to pressure fluctuations on my line that appear as usage.
"I'm really sorry but it appears these small usage amounts are coming from pressure fluctuations.
When the triangle on your meter fluctuates back and forth, it implies that there are pressure fluctuations in the system. And when this happens, water flows back and forth across your water meter. We can filter some of that out. However, when the fluctuations get big enough, we have a hard time distinguishing between real water use and these disturbances. "

Mine arrived a little while ago. Setup was easy. Setup was painless. Updates aren't instantaneous, but I didn't expect them to be since it's battery powered. I have a faucet intentionally dripping and it's showing 0 usage. I don't know if it's not detecting it, or if small amounts like that are filtered and not shown unless they persist. That's not a big deal for me either way, though. I really am only concerned with larger things like a stuck toilet valve, burst pipe or water heater, etc.
I flushed a toilet and it looks like that event may have never registered. I checked right after I did it and it didn't show, but it may have been stored in the unit and not updated yet. It was too close to when I took a shower so if I look now I can't tell if it was the flush or the start of the shower. I'll try again next time and see if it shows up as a single event. Even if it didn't pick it up, I'm not that worried as I'm not trying to accurately measure my regular usage.
I did go in and tweak the "large leak" rule from the default of 5.0GPM for 15 minutes. I'm not sure if that was based on the home info I entered or if it is the same for everyone. But, it seemed a bit high for how I use water. I now have it set to 3 GPM for 4 minutes. I'd much rather get a nuisance notification when I turn on the washer or the shower if it shortens the time until I know of an active leak. I'm going to play more and see if I can set time periods where any usage triggers an alert. That would be ideal since my schedule is pretty consistent.

Installed in parents home. The app says it updates every minute. So you need to wait 1 minute before it will show water usage. It seems to accurately measure usage as there is 1.6 gallon usages at night which is consistent with a toilet flush.
I really like it and will get one for my home too. Had to buy from amazon though as the checkout gives an error.
Mines came in used also. Will try to return and just buy off Amazon
I contacted Flume support and they confirmed that my Flume was new. They're working on better packaging to prevent stuff from getting lost in transit and the box from looking like it's been used.
My order shipped from Flume in San Luis Obispo, CA
Mine was definitely opened/used before. Sensor had a piece of grass stuck to the rubber band. I didn't want to bother with return and installed it. It works, so I'm fine with that, but it left a bit of a sour feeling.
Got mine - now I just need to figure out where the water meter is! Utility company was less than helpful and there is nothing obvious in or outside the house.

I see the $600 water bill is no longer a topic of interest
