I missed the memo that Dorco was shutting US operations ... looks like they've moved everything to Amazon and 2x'ed the prices. (Unless they still run 40% off promos?) What's the best option now that Dorco is dead?
I only put in one large order with Dorco (from Black Friday two years ago) and I liked them. I would have invested in a 10 year supply in the last 50% sale in March if I knew they were doing the amazon-only route. I'm now on my last blade. Hoping somehow they will be cheaper on Amazon next week on BF/CM but if not I will probably just put in an Amazon order and hope something changes in the future.
I am buying the new Power handle design direct from South Korea on eBay and at the very least you'd think we could find a source direct from South Korea that would beat out Amazon if buying in bulk but I haven't seen much and if it is close I'd still go with Amazon because of quick shipping and the assurance that they aren't knockoffs (I don't know if anyone is making bootleg Dorcos like they do with fusions but you never know).
Having bought a several year supply over 6 years ago, I came looking to find out they sold out. I might just look into a safety razor now, and see how that goes... seems most cost effective.
Dang it, If I only knew. I used to get their travel razor with the shaving cream in the handle. It was a great buy for anyone traveling. Looks like they no longer sell it direct, but someone rebranded it and is selling it as a Seen on Tv product.
Its the Slickdeal effect, everyone buys at their promo prices which are meant to be a way to try, But slickdealers never buy at full price and wait to buy again at their promo prices. They should have offered different promos for new vs old customers
Anyone know how to identify the blades? Is it by color? I have orange ones and I dont think they have a trimmer but I do not want to run my finger over to find out

I realize this comment is over a year old, but IMHO, this is the answer to the question in the OP: use safety razors.
Yes, a decent one will set you back $25-$35 (you can obviously go higher but something like an Edwin Jagger r89 head is a good place to start), but the blades themselves seem to hover right around $10 for 100 (for example, Dorco Prime - ironically enough - or Astra SP). Yeah, there's a learning curve involved and it may end up taking more time to shave (not a ton, but a little) but if you're looking for the best bang for the buck (and frankly, one of the best shaves overall - one can argue a straight razor is better) then safety razors are worth looking into.

I don't at all disagree with their us on one's face, but I have not found them great for the contour of my head.
They are on Amazon, just not at the same discount. I also bought some on ebay once that were shipped from S. Korea. The DorcoUSA web site says Dorco does private label shavers for KMart and for Family Dollar, but I don't know if their blades work in regular Dorco shavers.
