Been eyeing this monitor and looks like Newegg rebutted to Microcenter's price with their own. I remember eBay's 10% ebay bucks expiring today, so decided to check it.

TLDR there is a bit of a lottery on the backlight bleed.
I have the Acer version of this monitor and I believe it's the same panel and when I was researching to buy mine, all the reviews showed varying degrees of backlight bleed in the corners when the monitor shows black. It's noticeable on mine when I pull up a fully black image and the room is dark, but in my day-to-day work or gaming, it's not noticeable at all.
No need to be offended. This is still probably cheaper. It's your accounting that is incorrect.
Also one extra piece if info, if buying from online retailers such as Newegg, make sure to check their dead pixel policy (if they have one). This may be outdated info but last time I checked, Newegg has like a 7-8 (somewhere around there) dead pixel policy which means if you buy this monitor from them and it has 6 or less dead pixels on arrival, they consider it "normal" and may give you issues if you try to return or exchange for another unit. But..for a monitor that costs this much, one would expect 0 dead pixels and no black light bleeding..
His post implies tax is on the $398, when in fact tax is calculated on $446..
