Allen Edmonds offers an Extra 20% Off select Men's Sale Shoes (discount automatically applied in cart). Shipping is free on $75+ orders. Thanks daisybeetle
I wouldn't do it unless you can sort through the shoes in store. Or buy 8 pairs at a time. I'm not exaggerating the quality control is that bad. Took over 6 pairs of AE fifth ave and I gave up the exchange game getting clearly shoes that would be considered seconds. Finally settled on the 8th pair of Park Avenues I got.

I will echo the apparent lack of quality control with Allen Edmonds. I have ordered several pairs of shoes and have sent all of them back due to either poor build quality or defects. I am sure Allen Edmonds was once a great brand, but those days seem to be over.
Check out Beckett Simonon and Thursday Boots. I have a pair of shoes and boots from Beckett and 2 pairs of boots from Thursday Boots, and they are all excellent! They are well made, with Blake Stitching and Goodyear Welts respectively, and all of them are comfortable. You can't go wrong for the quality and price, not to mention the selections they have.
By the way, anyone have these and care to comment on how the sizing runs ? True to size or?
I use 11.5 in Nike/Adidas/Puma, so I ordered 11.5 boots online.
They were HUGE.
Went to the store (great service there) and they fitted me.
She put me into a 10.5, so they run a little big.
For those that just bought shoes, I just called in today and had them refund the difference. FYI the factory seconds also get 20% discount if their first hand counter parts have 20% off. This makes higgins mill tumbled leather $129 in factory second.
ALSO, QC is horrible, but I settled with the higgin mills I got since it would get beat up anyway. One of the most comfortable shoes I've purchased.
Factory seconds have a $25 restocking fee and I think return shipping might not be free. So if you want to buy multiple pairs to find the best QC'd shoes, don't buy factory seconds.

For me, they run true to length and width. not heel to ball. Very roomy in the toe area which is nice. Check reddit threads on GYW last sizing for comparisons

100% support this, I have gone through 3 pairs of another pair and I'm finally giving up

I can beat that ,I do like AE and own at least 20 pair (mostly buy custom Italian shoes but price is steep avg 1500 a pair ) anywho I once received a pair of shoes that had a different size left shoe ,a size 13 when I take an 11 lol .They have good customer service and sent me a free pair of my choice lol ……….so at least that !!!

I agree. Between quality control issues and lack of durability with my last couple pairs of AE I've moved on to other brands.
I've got a pair of Meermins and a pair of Tyrwhitts, and the leather is a tad nice on most of my AEs. This will be my fourth pair of AE shoes, and I ordered all three previous pair online and had no issues. It's my (baseless) suspicion that this thread is featuring a lot of selection bias of commenters only speaking up when they've had a negative experience. Not in any way to diminish the negative experience any of you may have had. but overall I've been very happy with the AE shoes I've purchased in recent years.

That said I might pick up some Higgins Mill boots. I love my AE Normandy boots. Wearing them now.

If I may ask who have you switched to? Up market to Carmina or another brand?
