It looks the LG OLED have benefits on contrast and blacks, better handling of variable framerates (supports AMD FreeSync and Nvidia GSync or whatever) and lower lag, better viewing angles, but has brightest possible picture closer to 800 nits, and will auto dim on too bright a picture. This Vizio goes over 2000 nits for short periods, so overall brighter HDR image is possible over OLED. This 75 inch is less than the price of the 65-inch LG OLED. Vizio has Chromecast built in and some smart apps, LG has more apps, both have AirPlay 2. So probably won't go wrong with either, size and price may be a factor.

you have a lot to learn Padawan.
Set the roku to 1080p...TV upscales to 4k

You might not know this...but that roku XS which you have does not do 4k so the TV must upscale. However my Roku Ultra does do 4k

If you buy a 4K TV, and set the Roku to 4K, everything out of the Roku will be sent to the TV as 4K 3840 × 2160. Roku will be doing all of the upscaling. Your new 4K TV won't upscale anything as the signal coming in is already 4K.
PER AVS FORUM
Not only is the Roku Ultra one of the only set-top streaming devices on the market that can handle the entire battery of next-generation display technologies (not just 4K, but also 60fps and HDR), but it also features the ability to upscale lower-resolution content up to 4K.Sep 28, 2016

I've been obsessing over getting a 75 inch TV for a couple weeks now and was waiting for this ad to kick in, great find!
Opinions on wether I should pull the trigger on this TV or get the 65 inch Sony X900F for $1,100? Any other recommendations in the 75 inch/$1600 and below category?
The blacks are not as Black but there also no burnin risk like oled. I'm picking one up as I understand the only non oled tv that looks better is the Sony x950G that costs lot more.

Ugh, I was trying to decide on this, the Samsung Q80r, or the Sony x950g at 75". I've read so many stories of horrible panel lottery with Vizio that already had me set on narrowing it down to between Samsung and Sony. But, I keep going back to this option as the absolute steal based on price, especially compared to $2299 and $2499 for the Q80r and x950g, respectively.
It makes me wonder, though, why the price went down this low. I can't help but wonder if it' because they're not meeting the sales they expected due to the widely shared concerns over the issues Vizio has had with quality control.
Make sure you get the extended warranty for $99. Gives you five years of coverage. You may never need it, but it a life saver if you do. Very affordable unlike Bestbuy extended warranties.
