My Costco had Lagavulin marked down $10 from their regular price of $53, so $43. There were other mark downs as well so check their scotch aisle.

I personally like Macallan 12 in this price range (cheaper), actually prefer the 12 over 15 value-wise. 18 is the best but cost $$$.
Japanese Whiskeys have had strong runs in the last 6+ years, so much that that some of them discontinued age-statement bottles. Hibiki Harmony is a good one if you can find one (try it with 1 or 2 ice cubes, it opens the Hibiki very nicely.
I like the Kirkland 20-year Speyside Sherry Cask Finish. Here is the revivew[scotchnoob.com]. Here in MA it is $56.99

thanks for the recs. i do have the kirkland 20 and macallan 12. both being a staple in my cabinet. i have yet to try hibiki harmony, i'll try to look for that one.
