However, I do not like that there is a delay of video capturing triggered by motion. There is at least a 2 second delay to these to start capturing. If the object in video is moving at a fast speed or turns a corner outside of the viewing angle, chances are that the Arlo will not capture the "moment" of things happening. The Arlo does pick up motion pretty well, so if you have a long hallway or driveway, it'll detect motion and start recording once the target is in your hallway, not entering. For that reason, I'm returning and looking for an installer to install a NVR/PoE system.
FYI - the ability to capture license plates during the day so that you're able read them depends on how many effective pixels you can get on the license plate. While higher resolution is better for this - remember it is effective pixels on target.
The 4K cameras from Arlo have very wide FOVs, which reduces the "range" - and with compression to reduce cloud storage and bandwidth you get less effective pixels.
For a better idea of how FOV camera resolution affects the theoretical ID distance ( and also license plate reading ability ) see the ID distance chart in

Also - night time license plate capture is challenging due to the reflective nature of plates - so you will need to custom tune the camera to just capture plates to read. ( see ipcamtalk lpr section for more info on this )

In terms of video quality?
The areas where these blow away the wyze is the water resistance and the battery powered wifi allowing you to put these just about any place within range of the base station.
So what you really want to do when comparing:
1) Test the Arlo Pro 2 - battery powered.
2) Test the Arlo Pro 2 wired to power.
3) Test a few times throughout the day - daytime and night time. Test with a suspect standing still holding a box of soda / beer..something with a nice large label to read. Then have the suspect walk slow, faster, and then a jog / run.
Test close, near, and far from the camera. Use the ID distance to help figure out what close / near / far will be for the camera.
See - https://slickdeals.net/f/10409612-lorex-dahua-oem-6x-4k-8mp-security-camera-system-w-8-port-poe-ip-nvr-2tb-hdd-kit-at-costco-b-m-ymmv-for-799-99 for the ID distance list, theoretical.
Feel free to share the results here on SDs or youtube / blog / etc...

Notification is also a few seconds delay.
I have 275M internet speed and the connection status on the cameras are full bar.
Another note worth mentioning is you'll need a charging station to charge the battery, otherwise, you'll have to remove the cameras and plug in the AC to charge it. The package does NOT come with the charging station.
To be able to adjust the activity zone, the cameras must be on AC.
The Arlo app takes at least 5 seconds to connect.
Most likely these will go back.
Instant notification on motion detection event:
As reubenroy notes - wired for both power and data is the best. I'd add one more.. not cloud dependent. ( any internet service or router or cloud service issue can delay the notification )
Also look for a traditional alarm sensor - they tend to function better than camera based alarms.
Ideally you want both a camera and alarm system.
