Best Buy has $300 off Pixel 4 and XL. This is their pre Black Friday sale which is $400 off. Note, this is a discount and not a bill credit or a gift card. However, you do have to pay tax on the regular price. Carrier activation is needed with Verizon, AT&T and Sprint. Note, you can pay off the remaining amount early but some carriers like Verizon need you to wait 60 days before unlocking.

I thought the 60 days was for unlock?
Essentially you are getting the discounted phone price + 1 or 2 days of a prorated libne bill & then wait 60 days to use it on another carrier.
Seems true:

That's what I thought - at least in the recent past - you cancel your line immediately & wait 60 days & the phone will be free to use elsewhere.

Seems like you can cancel and it will be automatically unlocked after 60 days.
