Yea I think that's the only difference between this one and MF644CDW.

In my search I also found out that all these canon printers usually come with half cartridges in the box meaning they have capacity of around 600 some odd pages

I looked up non-branded cartridges on amazon seems to be around $80-90 for the set of 4 vs the single $70 OEM cartridges.

I just searched all this so do correct me if I'm wrong.

Yup that went oos, I went to buy one for my parents n gone. But then found this one and they don't need double sided scanning thus bought it n posted it.

I have the MF632, not sure what the differences are. All in all really happy with it, but the touchscreen on it can be kind of infuriating to navigate. It's a bit tricky to register the correct amount of pressure. Even after half a year of owning it, I'm still not used to it lol

Other than double sided scanning I couldn't find any difference. If you need that than I'd wait. The sale for the MF644CDW was with two coupons stacking so it might be a while before it gets that cheap again.

Double sided scanning is the main difference I believe. I went with the 644 from Staples earlier though.

I have this unit - bought it roughly 6 months ago. Couldn't be happier even though I paid about $70 more than the posted deal. I use this in my home office where I print roughly 100 to 200 pages a month. Still on original cartridges and I have about 1000 pages.

I was coming from a Dell e525w that I had for a few years. The Canon in my opinion is way easier to set up and navigate the menus. Also auto duplex printing on this unit is so much nicer than the manual duplex.

Lastly, the aftermarket toners for the Dell were pretty hit or miss for me. Seems like many of them had the gears seized up to the point that the printer would make this God awful grinding sound. I hope the third party toners are better for this unit as I am getting close to needing to replace the originals and I just can't justify the price of oem.
