These NSD Series sub-woofer are part of SVS Black Friday Special. Offer valid while promotion last. Includes a 45-Day Risk Free In-Home trial w/ 5-Year Unconditional warranty - Discombobulated
We are offering the SB12-NSD and PB12-NSD subwoofers as our Black Friday promotion event. We have run this promotion for the last few years and it's been incredibly popular - they sell out very quickly!
The SB12-NSD and PB12-NSD are 100% new-production A-stock subwoofers manufactured this year specifically for our Black Friday promotion.
The NSD subwoofers are the predecessors to the SB-2000 and PB-2000, respectively. The SB12-NSD falls between the SB-1000 and SB-2000 in overall performance. Similarly the PB12-NSD falls between the PB-1000 and PB-2000 in overall performance.
The NSD subwoofers use our Sledge STA-400D amplifier with full DSP control. As shown on the website under the Tech Info tab - the quasi-anechoic frequency response of the NSD subwoofers is just as flat and accurate as the rest of our DSP subwoofers.
I'll continue to monitor this thread and follow-up as needed if anyone has additional questions about the NSD subwoofers (or SVS products in general). Thanks all!
These are also on Amazon. If you have Amazon credit card and Amazon Prime, you get 5% cash back as opposed to ordering directly from SVS.
I had one for a while, thought it would be worth a shot. In a small room, it can be very good. If you have any kind of volume, large room, open space etc. skip it, it's very underpowered. The response is also not nearly as flat as current models. You will have peaks and dips and it takes a miniDSP to correct. Most current models have DSP built in for it. It's a decent deal at the discount prices, but just make sure you are using it in the right space or it'll be a waste.

What is the difference between this and SB2000. I see 100watt power more and frequency response is little lower for sb2000 but my question is what is NSD and why does SVS have this separate line with half the price

My research indicates that this was the model that preceded the current sb1000 and sb2000 with specs in between the two, closer to the 2000 really. The PB12-NSD (ported 12") is also onsale for $500 which might be the better deal.

Thanks for quick response. That's what I have found. The sale is on SVS website too. I think it's better to get it from there if you want 45 day trial. Now all I need to know is if PB12 NSD is better than HSU VTF2 MK5. Almost same price when you add taxes or shipping

Thank you I'll edit post for svs website and add the ported.

Sealed or ported? The ported should have no trouble in most rooms. You only want a sealed in smaller rooms or for music listening.
This is a killer deal and could sell out quickly. There are zero subs that compete with the ported at this price. Title is a bit misleading with only the sealed sub highlighted price at $400, especially on a phone.

eBay collects tax on behalf of sellers in almost every state by January 1st, from what I can tell.
5% back on Chase freedom through PayPal is an option too.
