I've always LOVED Fossil watches, but this model particularly can go to hell. I've had the metallic charging rings on the back fall off on TWO different replacements with normal daily use. I could forgive the slowness of Wear OS and it's other flaws since it was really handy (even the subpar battery life), but after having the ring fall off within a month on my first model (purchased last Black Friday era) and then less than 2 months later after my replacement (which I didn't wear for a month because I was loving my secondary watch), I can't be arsed to deal with the Gen 4s anymore. The Gen 5 may be better performance and features-wise, but it's still using those awful charge rings.

Luckily the warranty is long and good on these models, but you're going to be going through the headache of getting a new watch every few months if you use it regularly...the way it's supposed to be used! Sweat and active use will deteriorate the weak glue holding the charge rings together, making you unable to charge without finessing the rings (until it eventually stops charging period).

I own this for more than a month and never had battery issues, I charge it every morning. It just drops to 30% after 24 hr use.

Also, these were 139 couple of months before on Fossil site
Had for few days. I hated the battery life on this..

Yes. The battery life is the worst of any smart watch I've had, but it lasts me through the day so I can deal with it.

I'm seeing a coupon to save $26.25, which brings the pre-tax price to $148.75 for me

It shows $175, but when you add it to your cart, there is a discount that drops it to $149

Buy a gen 5 over gen 4. Gen 5 has 1 gb memory which is HUGE difference. This gen 4 will be laggy and you will hate it.

Good price for a good watch. Have had it for over a year now. Back charging plate did come off couple months back but bring to a Fossil store and they replace no questions asked. Heck, they even offered me to swap for a newer Fossil Sport if I wanted. Their customer service is excellent. Also battery life is too be expected, will easily get you through the day and could wear for sleep tracking and charge up in the morning. Yes, Gen 5 is better, but for the price this is solid!

This happened to both my Huawei watch and my skagen falster (skagen is owned by fossil). No more low quality android watches for me.

Agreed. I got a Silver Withings Steel HR around the same time I got my replacement Explorist in early January, and it's been solid ever since. It's a Hybrid smartwatch, but does its job effectively and looks really good. I haven't felt bad about my dead-since-April Gen 4 (which i still have to deal with for warranty 7 months later lol) because of this watch, and haven't missed Wear OS that much. I like the new Hybrids Fossil made, but theur features seem to be lacking compared to my Withings one.
