I know there are many improvements like a 40-mile limit but I don't see any visible front and rear wheel shock absorbers. Does this mean you're going to need to visit a dentist after your 40-mile ride?

Anyone bought and used in NYC? Wanted to know their experience ? Also how do they ride on not so good roads?

I own this model and love it. Ride is great when there are bike lanes, scary as hell when there aren't. Bumpy roads are not fun, would not suggest mounting your cell phones to this as it tends to just fall right off.

For transportation purposes, the scooters have more range and speed, but for recreational purposes I'd go with the Segway miniPro. I've never owned a scooter, but (long story) I own 3 miniPros and a Ninebot S. The miniPros and other self-balancing vehicles with side-by-side wheels are a LOT of fun to ride. They're much more maneuverable than a scooter. In fact, you can stand still on it, wait in a line on it, go fast (10-11 mph) or creep along at less than a walking pace, turn 360 in one spot, go backwards (be careful turning if you're going backwards!), take it down wooded trails and climb over roots and branches (it's challenging and fun to pick a path down a trail and see what you can climb over) and even dance on/with it. And IMO, riding one has a very high Zen factor. Just saying. I've seen them on Amazon, briefly, for as low as $315 delivered. The newest model is what they call the 2018 version, but it has a smaller battery (260 vs 320) and less range (12.5 miles vs 14 miles) than the pre-2018 version. Reportedly, they reduced the size of the battery so more airlines, cruise ships, etc., will allow them onboard (but even the 320 batteries are far safer than the cheap batteries that came in many hoverboards that caught fire). You can still find a few of the older models (99997-00004 white; 99997-00003 black) on eBay. Be careful, however, to ensure the seller will accept returns and and pay for return shipping, because sometimes if the older models have sat on the shelf for a long time without ever being recharged they'll be dead on arrival and they won't take a charge without being reconditioned. I don't mean to hijack or disparage the deal, I'm just trying to be helpful/informative.
