r u kidding me....United and American are bottom of the world best airline list..
Definitely racist. You have to be on crack to think United is better than Cathay, especially in Economy.
You're crazy. I've flown United and American international before, and they are pretty much the worst. In fact, pretty much every international airline has been better than those. You're comparing a top 5 carrier to the bottom of the rung.

I'm not based in Boston.

I've flown LAX to Narita for $500. LAX to Taipei, $400. LAX to HKG $500, and that's expensive. All either United or American. And this has nothing to do with brand loyalty. For some reason, these companies have great Asia routes.

You're welcome. American already has an LAX - Chang Mai flight that's cheaper than the "70% off" Cathay deal. For $639, you can do LAX - Tokyo - Bangkok roundtrip. Don't be fooled. Cathay economy blows. Dragon service is more convenient and affordable for shorter inter-Asia trips.

Since I've been following the right people on Twitter and following all these travel blogs, I've come to realize it's not about the cost of traveling anymore. I don't get enough time off.. Headed to Bali in Feb on points only

Personally I think Cathay service sucks, and their screaming deals are never really deals. I've had a much more pleasant experience flying to Asia on American and United, believe it or not. Typically for cheaper.

Oh I went past April and when I booked last Black Friday, Bos to HK round trip non stop was $650 each ticket. I think that's a deal ( and not what you mention) And if you do think that is a suck deal, find me something better.
