Amazon, Home Depot and Walmart have the Flame King 30 lb propane tank for sale for $40.91. Not a bad deal for a 30 lb propane tank.

typically your large equipment rental places (uhaul), tractor supply, etc will fill them up by the gallon. it is also substantially cheaper than swapping bottles.

Yes it will work, but probably won't fit under the grill in the same spot designed for a 20#er so keep that in mind.

How long does this usually last if you hook it up to a normal kitchen range?

Will this work with standard grill? I guess my question is are these tanks universal?

I think it was Northern Tool that had a 100lb tank on sale for around $100. I can't remember if I was calculating what it would cost with the 20 off 100 coupon or not.

I'm tempted to get some LP tankless water heaters and figure those things take up less space than the big tanks.

It has the same size everything as a normal tank, it's just taller. So yes it'll still connect to the gas hose on your grill, but it might be a bit too tall to easily fit in the spot for the tank underneath for some grills

Depends on how much height you have under grill. This is taller than standard 20 lbs tank...about 5" or so.

Thoughts on places to fill this? And cost to fill it up (roughly)?

Wouldn't this a bit more restrictive, not only size-wise but also these have to be refilled and not simply exchanged at Academy/Home Depot or some random gas station?
