The 4XL model does the most common/popular 4x6 label.

The one you almost always see on every package that arrives at your door.

That's the one to get, it needs to be on deal.

Are the rolls proprietary or there are aftermarket cheap ones?

Plenty of cheap ones out there. I use generic labels with another printer and they work great.

Thinking about this, but not sure since it doesn't do 4x6 which UPS requires, but this is good for USPS.

Hey, no sales tax, ordered!!!

There are 3rd generic ones for 1/2 price for most sizes. I bought some for my printer and they work fine in the machine and are the same quality/feel.

These printers are awesome and they don't waste labels like the handheld machines I've used. I use one of these daily at work and I can't find any reason to avoid it. It never gives me an issue. Set it up correctly and it will work as expected every time.

Love this machine bought it a few years back. Ive used it for printing out return address labels, address label for christmas cards, weddings, baby showers. My wife is a teacher so she uses it for all her kids labeling there folders and chairs.

The DYMO app for Windows is great you can import excel and csv files and map them to your labels. You can take cartoon images and put them next to your labels like a snowman for our Christmas cards this year. All the different sized labels I have bought from Amazon and all usually cheap for large quantities.

Worth mentioning that AMEX at Adorama has $25 back on $250 for my card. If you're buying this as part of a larger shopping list, save a little more dough.

To make this work with USPS it looks like you need to buy 99109 labels, out of the box you will not be able to print postage bought online.

99019 labels for dymo will let you print most USPS domestic first class and priority labels with a few exceptions (exceptions which you will likely never care about). 99019s will not let you do: USPS international labels, or UPS or FedEx labels.

So this printer is very limited for those that want to use it for shipping. I think I will pass and wait on a deal for the official 4x6 printer they sell.

I have had the 450 Turbo for over 5 years now. Doesn't print UPS but if you are using for label maker or for USPS label, it works perfectly fine. Though you do need to change settings when printing for USPS. I would recommend anyone who ships often get the 4XL.
