To optimize: wait until Sunday and buy a $50 GC for $45, then purchase $60 worth of household essentials minus the 20% BF coupon and boomerang the $50 GC, with $15 GC back. Equates to $60 worth of goods for half off. Wink
Wait until deals like this are active if it's something you were going to buy anyway. Also, on the 8th, Target gift cards are 10% off. You can buy up to $300 worth and you'd pay $270. And that's per transaction...I've bought more than $300 worth in the past. Use the discounted gift cards with the 20% off coupon and get deals where you get a gift card back for your purchase Smilie It's crazy the games we have to play to save a little money, but it adds up. I do a giant household run plus some Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers to really maximize the savings. I do end up saving a good amount when all is said and done.
Personally, I think it's better not to combine the deals. If you want to maximize savings, you should buy $300 worth of GC for $270. Then, use $50 of that to do this deal to get $15 back (if you choose to, you can do this more than once). Then, use 20% off coupon on a larger purchase to save more money. For example, if you did $15 back $50 x 2, you'd still have $230 worth of GC, after scoring $100 worth of household items. If you use your 20% off coupon on a larger purchase, you save more (e.g. $40 off $200). The end result is a far greater saving than your scenario.

Thank you! I was just about to pull the trigger on a cart full of tissues, dishwasher tabs, and laundry detergent. I'll wait until Sunday!

Won't $60 worth of household essentials -20% = $48, doesn't trigger threshold for bonus GC?

Or is the GC triggered by a $50 purchase, pre-coupon?

Most diaper boxes at target are buy two and get a $10 gift card... it's been like that for a long time... hoping that doesn't change next week when I buy a gift card at 10% off and use my 20% off coupon

Wouldn't that be rolling a GC? I did not think Target would allow essentially buying GC with GC.

That's true, they actually charge you for that $15 gift card. Check your statements and you will see a charge for it
