Chase Checking & Savings $900 Bonus Offer

I'm not sure if this was targeted or not. It was an offer under my Marriott Chase credit card account. You get $900 cash back when you open a checking and savings account through the link. Sure the interest rates are crap...but once you get your $900 after 3 months, you can close accounts and move elsewhere. Seems like a killer deal...unless I'm missing something? https://accounts.chase.com/consum...px=PT22272

"To receive the $300 checking bonus: 1) Open a new Chase Total Checking account, which is subject to approval; AND 2) Have your direct deposit made to this account within 90 days of account opening. Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person to Person payments (such as Chase Quickpay® with Zelle®) are not considered a direct deposit. After you have completed all the above checking requirements, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 10 business days. To receive the $200 savings bonus: 1) Open a new Chase SavingsSM account, which is subject to approval; 2) Deposit a total of $15,000 or more in new money into the new savings account within 20 business days of account opening; AND 3) Maintain at least a $15,000 balance for 90 days from the date of deposit. The new money cannot be funds held by you at Chase or its affiliates. After you have completed all the above savings requirements, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 10 business days. To receive the extra $400 bonus: You must open the checking and savings account at the same time and complete all requirements above for BOTH the checking bonus and savings bonus. After you have completed all requirements, we will deposit the remaining bonus due in your new checking account within 10 business days."

Setup a direct deposit of $500 a month or have a balance of over $1500 to avoid fees on checking. And maintain balance of over $300 on savings to avoid fees.

No, you have to be a new checking/saving account holder.
But someone can have more than one checking and savings account with one institution.

My bad I didn't clarify, I meant to ask the checking direct deposit. Can you explain how the ach transfer works? Is that like bill pay I setup the pay account at a different bank then pay the chase checking hoping to trigger as direct deposit?

ACH is transferring money method between finance institutions. It is not as "bill payment".
You can set up this from your non-Chase bank/brokers, normally it is under "Money transfer" option, add your chase checking account's "routing number" and "account number" to initiate "transfer"

Yes, but this is on the fine-prints:

Bonus/Account Information: Checking offer is not available to existing Chase checking customers. Savings offer is not available to existing Chase savings customers. Both offers are not available to those whose accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance.

People should probably stop asking for codes, as Chase is already aware of this offer being passed around and they just modified the page so that it can no longer be shared.

Great, thanks for posting that. The link in the OP is dead and nothing in the extract posted mentions anything about new customers.

I closed my checking account more than 1 year ago, do I qualify for the offer? I read somewhere that Chase now enforce two year rule? Could you please clarify this? Thanks.

I just opened both accounts with deposit later option, so both account has zero balance. I just want to confirm if following works:
1. ACH Transfer 15K from my credit union account to Chase saving - this would fulfill saving bonus requirement.
2. ACH Transfer 500 from same credit union - wait for a week if bonus does not post transfer another 500 from Ameritrade

If I keep this balance as is, there wont be any monthly fees in both accounts - correct?

Generally there's a two year rule, however, there has been people confirming that they still got their bonus even though they closed their accounts in less than a year.

Correct, Just remember your 15K need to park in the saving for 90 days. and then you can take it out but leave 300 in there to avoid fee.

Thanks and repped.. Good to know. I closed my chase account about 13 months ago, I remember the rule used to be 6 months, then one year and now two years. BTW, do you know where to find the terms and condition regarding this for this particular promo? I clicked the links on the first page , but had a broken link. Thanks again.
