A decent consolation prize for those who missed the Makita deal the other day.

Adding the brand to the title might be a good idea

No. It's a variable speed polisher with rotating only. I bought it a few years back for $180 and it is the best of the best with polishers in this class. It really it too much to handle for a novice trying to polish their cars paint. Why? because it's fast.

I've seen what these do in hands of amateurs. Gigantic holograms. Man. I would rather take whatever they were trying to paint correct and live with it. Or, you know, do a basic hand polish.

Rotary's are great for boats though.

Nearly the same price ($119.99) on eBay from an authorized seller if someone has eBay Bucks to use up:

Very likely you will trash your finish if you dont know what youre doing with a powerful rotaty polisher. FWIW

I watched a neighbor years ago take on his truck with no prior use of one of these. Every panel that had a raised edge he burned through the paint in spots. Too aggressive with pressure and you can do quite the damage to your paint.

I learned how to use one working at a new/used car dealer in HS and even then it took months of practice before they would let me do a used car for lot or even a customers in for doll up.

Don't get a rotary like this for paint polishing. As a novice or even intermediate, you want a DA (dual action) polisher like the G8 from Griot's Garage, Porter Cable 7424XP, Rupes Bigfoot etc etc.
This polisher is good for polishing metal wheels etc. You can totally fck paint up with a rotary like this.

Does anyone have any experience using this dewalt to polish granite countertops? I've been eyeing out the makita one for a while but never pulled the trigger because of the price.

Agreed. Bought a bunch of Rupes stuff on Black Friday and they are some stout machines. The Griots G8 and G9 are a great beginner combo for not a whole lot of coin.

This actually ranks as the number #1 car paint polisher on many lists, including this one. https://www.carbibles.com/best-ca...-reviewed/

However, I do not see the extra $25 discount on Amazon.

EDIT: I see the discount in my cart after going through the checkout process.
