EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

You are probably fine then because I never had that section you pictured... The benefit was just always applied to the loan fee disclosure (no appraisal).
Hopefully, it comes through. If I go to through the link my address does not show-up anymore, likely because I used it up. Tried to see if my neighbor's address shows, it does not! They likely do not have amex!?
Great deal nonetheless... Thanks OP! Repped!!

seems great deal if you get good rates..apart for statement credit it waives the appraisal too which is another $450-$550 savings depending on the lender

A lot of mortgage lingo goes over my head, so what does this AMEX credit actually save us? The fees according to the Better.com rate area say they're for title insurance, settlement fee, recording fee, etc.

So will there be other fees I'm missing if I refi?

Also, right now we have our insurance rolled in with our mortgage, so I'm assuming the rates don't cover that, or do they?

The AMEX benefit is two parts.
1. No appraisal fee (most lenders charge about $500) for this. So you won't see this on your fee disclosure, like you would for other lenders.
2. A statement credit on your credit card statement for $2,500 after your loan closes.

No, those should be your fees. Keep in mind you might have to bring more cash to closing for prepaid interest, and to reestablish any escrows you have. Your current lender would return your escrow once the loan is paid off.

There should be no other fees unless you buy down your rate.

You will need to tell Better if you want your taxes or home owners insurance escrowed. It is your choice.

LMAO That must be the most untrue statement ever...

My wife and I being credit card churners we have traveled the world in luxury thanks to credit cards without paying a dime to them in interest. Never hold a balance, and if need to will manufacture spend.

Play the game, instead of the game playing you.

Interesting, I called Amex too and I was told that it has to be listed among your offers to be eligible. I'll call them again today.
Did you get any updated info from AMEX today?

Yes, yesterday I was told it's valid for ANYONE with an active Amex consumer card in good standing. I asked them to send me an email to confirm this, which I still haven't received. Anyone else called Amex to confirm?

I did not contact them and went through OPs link on Dec 9. My wife got an email from amex yesterday (Dec 10th) with the promotion. I will be using her card for any deposit with better.com. My application is in initial underwriting. I'm not sure when they'll ask for the card details.

The landing page sure makes it sound like this is available for anyone with a consumer AMEX. I didn't see it listed on any of my many Amex cards (under AMEX offers), but the Better website sent me an e-mail once I began the sign up that mentions the $2500 credit and free appraisal. So far the rates I'm seeing don't beat my current one (3.25%) so I'm not going to continue.
