EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

Huge rep for this. I am also refinancing and they are essentially paying the closing fees through the lender credit plus I get the AMEX $2,500 so I am getting paid to refi.

Cuts 8 years off my mortgage, saves me $100k in interest.
What was your interest rate before and now after?

Has anyone got the credit but wasn't targeted? Looks like a good offer but I don't have it in my Amex offers.

I'm pretty sure you're ok. It seems like one of those offers that you just have to click through the promo link to be eligible. Many people have confirmed that the offer was added to their account (although not visible to the account holder) by clicking through the link.

Even if the Amex bonus doesn't post, you really can't lose with the recent low rates and better's $1000 price match bonus.

Has anyone in NY refinanced. I saw a posting saying not available in NY, but I put in my address and it didn't say not available or anything (didn't go thru all the way though).

Got started today. Hopefully my price match goes smoothly. I also got Alyssa as my concierge so fingers crossed.

How do they know it's been added if it's not visible? Is the concierge saying it's been added?

Ask Amex to verify that the offer is on your account.

For those who aren't sure if the AMEX credit will work, definitely check with both AMEX and Better. In my experience, the person helping you in the beginning doesn't know too much, but during the underwriting stage, you can double-check with your rep.

It's been about a week of underwriting, so I'm hoping I get moved to closing soon. Leaving for Japan in April and would love that AMEX credit on the account by then.

Has anyone successfully closed on their loan yet?

Seems like everyone on this thread has had positive experience from what I've read... any watchouts?

I closed two weeks ago and don't have any complaints. Process was easy and communication was good (my LO even answered quick text messages in minutes). I'm disappointed I didn't pick up on the rate match, because I probably could have saved another .25% off my rate, but I was pretty enamored with the AMEX credit I didn't pay attention. At this time, I have not received my credit, but technically the terms said it could take up to 12 weeks. I think there was one post they got it after a week post close, but I wouldn't count on that.

I've been keeping my eye on this for a week. I was given an estimate yesterday. I re-checked the rates today and I noticed today's rates are lower so reapplied for new rates. They updated the new pre-approval rates to say "as of 1/21/2020" so I locked it in.

Then I noticed right after that it locked me into the terms from yesterday. What the heck is up with that? It's a bit frustrating but am I stuck with what I have?

watch out rates. I accidentally applied directly without going through the amex link and rates were much better. Once I applied with amex link rates/lender credit were totally different. Difference almost negated the full amex statement credit. Without getting match it may not be good deal as it looks

the way to get around this (if true) is to do a price match (which everyone should do anyway because you get an extra $1000).
