EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

I'm trying to price match and the rep is including the other providers appraisal fee as part of the total cost. They are adding parts (A + B + C - J) and subtracting $1000. The only problem is that part C is services that you can shop for and part B is the appraisal... Anyone actually get a decent price match offer?

The last 4 of the eligible card is in the offer email from the Amex ,that's the card of which 4 digits needs to be provided. Did anyone who didn't receive the email got the $2500 credit ?

the way to get around this (if true) is to do a price match (which everyone should do anyway because you get an extra $1000).
I am going to talk to them tomorrow and see if they match their own (better) loan estimate first Smilie

Same here, they just took A+B+C from the competitor and knocked $1000 off it and price matched the rate. While it's not the slickest deal, it's fair.

I got A+B+C to $2567 with 3.5% rate in WA state on a 30 year fixed conventional, excellent credit but only 80% LTV. After the $2500 credit it's basically a free refi. I drop a half percent off my rate and lose PMI to the tune of $220 a month savings. Hell yeah it's a decent deal.

Thanks going to give zillow a try. Already reached out to some of the lenders there.

Will my property tax go up if I refinance ? My home value went up, I'm sitting at almost $200K in capital gains since I bought it. Not sure if refinance is a good idea in my case, any advice or suggestions will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Refinancing does not cause your property tax to increase. As the home is not changing hands, there is no reason for a new assessment.

I am in the process. The rep didn't say anything abut Amex link. He said you can get $2500 credit if using an eligible Amex card in writing. At least I have it in writing.

I called AMEX yesterday and the CSR said that the account doesn't need to be flagged in order for you to receive the 2500 statement credit. She said to just click on the link and follow the better.com checkout. She read verbatim word for word on the link provided on page one.

I also spoke with a rep with better.com and I was told that there is a dedicated AMEX team handling refi application.

When in the process you share the Amex Card number with Better ?

Has been answered many times. It will be one of your final tasks before closing.
