Notary and closing
Here is what you can expect or ask for from my experience:
1. New pen for signing wiped thoroughly
2. Pen stays with you after signing
3. Only material they will touch would be your ID
4. ID would be wiped and returned back
5. Can expect gloves to be worn
6. Signing can happen in your front yard or in your garage
7. If you have a Costco table then you can sit on either sides to maintain distancing
8. Masks might be recommended given new guidelines
9. Plus discuss with the notary!!

I'll call them again to question the CEMA. It doesn't sound right to me.
Do you have an attorney pay off fee on your LE?
I was just curious as you said Attorney payoff fee.
They mentioned the "payoff attorney fee" is used to process the CEMA request.
It sounds sketchy as hell and I don't trust it at all. I asked why would I be required to sign official documents with incorrect numbers? Why can't the documents be changed to show the correct numbers that I can then sign? She says this is how 90% of loans are done.

Refinancing. 30 year loan at 3.125% no points. 800 + credit score.
Closing cost about 4500 plus mortgage tax and 2500 in amex credits.
They added a $ 750 Attorney Payoff fee to the LE. Not sure what that is as there's already an attorney bank attorney Fee $895 and Attorney CEMA Doc Prep Fee of $295.
Better.com mentioned I don't get the full mortgage tax back even though it's a CEMA loan. He said I would get about 50% even though I'm just refinancing the same amount. Does that sound correct? Did they also tell you the same?

The rest of it sounds absurd. However, the one thing i would be mindful of is if you are already "ready" to go. You can string her along with the initial LE if its totally off base. The only thing you would have to send money out for (usually by signing a CC doc) giving them a card to charge the appraisal too. The rest you can back out instantly. I also wouldnt send them any of my docs until the updated LE comes to your eyes.

What she says will happen AFTER I sign is 3.125%, I get $1000 credit, no appraisal fee
It seems so off base to me
