EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

Has anybody received $1000 if Better can't match? I am in a situation where they're unable to match and figuring if this is $1000 cash offer is real.

Can you give some details on your second refinance with Better? How much more were you able to lower your interest rate? Did you have to pay any points? Thanks!

I posted this earlier in this thread - you can refi right now at owning.com [owning.com] for those exact terms - 2.75% with $0 closing costs for a 15 year $560k loan. I refi'ed with them in December and can vouch for them and their process - it's extremely quick and easy.

Note for anyone else reading - this is only for properties in CA.
Wow, that definitely beats better.com.

That's California only, anything for illinois? I have better at 2.75 with no closing costs for $410k loan and 15 years.

A wire transfer is a wire transfer. Just make sure to find out all of the details required for your bank. For instance, most have to done by a certain time of the day to make it in.

Im signing my closing/loan documents tomorrow/thisday. The wiring instruction said to send it no later than 1 business day.

Do i have to prepare anything now or just do everything on friday?

I called them regarding the time i should do it and they said to process it as early morning as possible

Friday morning is fine. We closed on Monday afternoon, and I submitted the wire through my bank on Tuesday morning. They received it the same day. Funding is scheduled now for Friday.

Has anyone been able to confirm that this offer can be used more than once? Terms and conditions don't say it can't. I'm just thinking of a situation where FED rates go into negative territory, and mortgage rates drop even further. Especially if it's within 180 days, Better.com might not even need to do the title search and other steps, no? So it might be even cheaper.

Someone mentioned a few pages back that he did refinance again with better.com after 10weeks.

I probably not going to do that. Even though better.clom makes it easier for us because it's all online. We still talking about a lot of money involve here and a lot of processes just to get $2,500. For me, it's not worth the hassle and time. The only way I will consider this again if the actual rate is really down weather with $2500 promotion or not which I don't see it happening anytime soon.

GL and Ty for your response to my question.

i would appreciate some help.

im in california with a jumbo loan. i owe 560K. im 4 years into a 30 year fixed mortgage at 3.25% apr.

i am looking at a refi at 15 year. id consider 2.75% APR no points/no fees.

i have been keeping tabs this week. aim loan seemed to be 2.9 but i couldnt find better.

i would like to take advantage of this deal if possible but it has to make sense as i have a good rate currently.
Are you sure you will be getting a better deal?

Look at Owning's current offer, 15yr @ 2.75% and 30yr @ 3.375%. If you simply apply the monthly payment difference as additional payment to the later, you pretty much pay off the loan about 14.25 years earlier. Your 3.25% is very good for jumbo, you just need to make extra monthly payment if you really want to pay it off faster.

I asked my agent, this is what he just told me "That is a great question. I believe as long as the offer is valid, and you would like to do this, we can make it happen! Please let me know your thoughts." I agree with you though, I would only do it again if rates dropped by like a whole point or more. Who knows...
