EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

So everyone using LenderFi, did you go as far as completing the to-dos like mortgage statement, W2s, license, paystubs, etc to get the official loan estimate?

I was thinking all that wasnt necessary to get the LE, if it is im happy to do it. But wondering if i just need to ask the rep im working with for an LE first?

When I applied with LenderFi, I never completed any of those steps. The initial package the sent me for eSigning included a Loan Estimate. I simply downloaded that PDF and never did anything else.

Just closed with better.com. At one point in the process I had to enter my Amex card number. I also emailed them to triple check the amex stuff went through and they said yes. Since closing I have gotten no confirmation the amex stuff has gone through. I'm sure this is normal and I'm just anxious, but it's $2500 so it's kind of a big deal.

Good to know thanks. I submitted LenderFi late on Friday so thats probably why I didnt get a call or official human reply. Just been getting automated messages. I reached out to the rep assigned to me so hopefully that gets things moving.

Ok. that is good time. I jumped ship from Owning to Better.com as they beat lender credit by over $1000 plus the Amex credit just sweetened the deal. One thing that worried me was I kept seeing comments of them taking long to close or being hard to deal with. Still worth the try.

Has anyone applied for an AMEX card for this offer? I'm assuming the Blue Card is sufficient? I have a AMEX Business card that isn't eligible.
Same Question. Any input?

How did you guys the quote from lenderfi. They didn't even ask for personal information except for loan amount, zipcode, how much house worth? Then hey shows multiple offers 15 years . Those rates has around 4500 closing cost for 2.75% interest rate. Am I doing something wrong?

In most cases, those are about purchase transactions. Purchases aren't hard, but are not as straightforward as they involve multiple people - you, your insurance company, the closing attorney, the seller's attorney if different than the closing attorney, the seller's lender (via the attorney), and others. That leads to more chances for mistakes and problems. Add to that for refinances, having a delay isn't a big deal while for purchases, it could destroy a deal.

Personally, I wouldn't be concerned, but I'm familiar with the mortgage process and everything that is needed. If you need guidance on what needs to get done and aren't the type to keep the people at Better on their toes with multiple follow-ups, then I would recommend using another lender for purchases and using Better just for refis.

I think it depends on each situation and your loan team. I'm almost at 4 weeks and not ready to close. I sent in all requested information within like an hour of each tasks showing up on my account. No issues with income or money in the bank. I've just been getting a lot of run around with the team and they are hard to reach via phone/email. I know a lot of it has to do with them being overwhelmed during Covid-19 with a lot of people doing this. Yet, it hasn't been fun for me.

Ugh same. I rate them 0/10 on their ability to reply to emails. 10/10 on their ability to send out pre-written automated emails. And then annoyance when you call them and they immediately pick up. So they def aren't busy. They've got the excuses though, 'in a meeting' 'oh they are sick' [Ed. for 2 weeks?]? lol

Seems you just need to stay on top of them.

Yeah still they gave me a great rate at a great price + $2500, so beat all the offers. Lets see if they redeem themselves for future deals or if they just end up being a pain in my ***. lol

Oh I haven't been able to reach my loan expert on the phone. I get the assistants and leave messages but I never get called back. I even setup times to be called but they fail to look at the phone number in the schedule meeting and call me on the phone on my acct. I specifically put a different number to be reached out b/c that's how I need to be reached. Calling me at the other number doesn't work! Sorry I'm overly frustrated with them today.
