EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

I had a couple of tasks that requires wet-signature ... so I have to print and sign it. It could be just me because it was about the SSS verification task. I think that's what he is talking about.
The only wet-signature task I had was my insurance agent refusing to change the loss payee without either my sig or me calling in for it.

I have a multifunction printer/scanner at home, but if not, I would have printed, signed, and taken photos with my smartphone. There are apps to take those photos and make PDFs from them.

There is no hard hit on better initially until you are locking the rate. So it's soft credit check only
Thank you. I am trying to apply, towards the end the 'Submit to View Options' button is throwing an error, 'Oops! — something went wrong. Please try again.' Could not past it. Any ideas?

I don't get any emails for tasks. I am checking a couple of time a day and that is how I learn on new tasks. I don't think their system is setup correctly. Notification settings is set to receive emails, calls, and texts for tasks.
I'd check your spam folder and if Better has the correct email for you (their contact email for you is the one you use for login). There is a change email option once you login. Note, this also changed your login.

Are your reports locked/frozen? Particularly TransUnion?

Thanks, that was it. I have to unfreeze it with probably all credit bureaus. Have not applied for credit in a while. Appreciate it.

How is everyone uploading docs requested in the tasks now that all the stores are closed?
Pretty much all of the documents they request can be downloaded from the various websites (banks, brokerage, your company work portal etc.). I haven't had any issues getting them the documents they need so far.

If it's a short document, you might try something like Scanbot Pro (it's free). It's an iPhone app which takes a picture and crops the document, saves it as a .pdf and then allows you to email it to yourself. I use it all the time during business trips to take pictures of receipts, it's pretty great.

So in today's f**kfest. I asked for loan amount $XXXk. Somehow it got changed multiple times. I let my loan officer know that I would be paying down the balance ahead of time to avoid extra interest (which was smart since I'm now at 5 weeks since locking rate.) Anyways, somehow the loan amount went down $XXk, the amount that I said I was paying down ahead of time. I reached out multiple times to closing agent and loan agent about the error and was assured it would be fixed. Now almost back to closing and they say I'm short funds because of course I used the bank account to pay that $XXk. I thought it would be fixed on the back end of the account was just still in error. So now I wait for them to fix their mess ups, again.

Ended up locked in today at a 15-yr Fixed 2.5% Rate and 2.57% APR on a $362K refi
0.249% Points for $902
Sections A, B, C: $2,066
To me, my closing costs will hopefully end up being -$434 once everything settles (with the AMEX $2500 statement credit which I verified I would get).

Both Zillow and Blue Spot offered 0 points 2.50 Rates today and Better matched/beat their overall loan closing cost (plus the AMEX credit).

I am getting 2.5% with 0 closing only from Owning for CA. Blue spot and Zillow is around 2.62%. Is your home in CA?

I ended up getting a 2.875% rate, no points, for a 20 yr refinance in a condo in NYC. In the process of closing in the next few days. I am working with a different bank I was recommended to though, as all the online quotes were much higher.
Care to share your bank/contact? I'm in upstate NY.

The best rate for an investment property that I got from Better is 3.25% for 15 years (with about $300 points) after beating a LE from AIM loan. I checked few places and all of them were much higher ( Zillow, bankrate, lenderfi, bluespot, closeyourownloan, etc). I did not submit an an app with lenderfi yet.

I also locked 3% for 30 years (primary residence) with $500 credit after beating a LE from AnnieMac.

I called Amex and spoke with someone in Offers Dept. She said that anyone who applies through the link and closes the loan by the deadline will get $2500 credit.
