EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

I locked the rates couple of weeks ago and now I received lower rate from the same competitor. Closing cost remains the same. Can Better still match the lower interest rates??

As long as you get the LE, I think yes. Needs to be in 1 business day.

I haven't kept up with the thread. Trying to get a good rate and use LenderFI so I can then use that to match via better.com and also get the credit. As I go through the process LenderFi is asking for DOB and SSN etc. Is that required step? I assume this will pull the report then? reading few threds i was told I will be easily able to get a detailed Lender offer that I can use. Just wasn't sure if its after I have to fill all this info or I can get one without?

Is the process same via owning.com as well?

Check bank rate or zillow.com to find rural bank. Or you can check United wholesale mortgage and find local broker. They have lowest rates and closing cost is around 2000.

I am pretty positive that you have to give them ssn to negotiate the best rate. Several hits for the same purpose should not affect the credit score much.

Having gone through this process, if the FED rate for mortgages goes down over .25% (Better Mortgage checks this every Thursday), regardless if you've locked in your rate or not, Better Mortgage WILL lower your rates. You need to call and check with them on this, they do not do it automatically.

Rates haven't moved that much in the last thirty days though, have they? What website are you checking this on?

When I was going through the process (started early May, closed & funded on June 2) rates dropped 0.18%. I don't know what website Better Mortgage benchmarks against other than knowing they have a policy to drop rates if the feds drop the rates even though its already locked.

Got an offer

2.75% - The total cost to do the refi is $9271 - $5906 (lender credit) = $3,365

Going to see if better can price match.

Is 2.75% a good deal for $3365?

What term? Does the $9,271 include all your prepaids?
