EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

so for going good with better.

Rate lock on the 9th
Appraisal ordered on 9th. Appraiser came to inspect on 14th
Title ordered on 10th (not using better for title)
Underwriting conditionally approved on 13th

I didn't expect them to move this fast given the re-fi rush.

Have the lender put the order directly with them as the consumer side is closed for Radian but they are taking order and are hands down the cheapest.

Thats what I did and they confirmed that Better put an order already.

Thanks shah. I saw your earlier post comparing with alt title but unfortunately, I can't generate a quote there since I'm TX (and so apples to apples comparison isn't possible).

Did you get a quote anywhere else like fidelity (lowest I found so far)? Is Radian cheaper? I can't go in blindly with Radian and set everything up not knowing what it'll cost in the end. TIA.

Yes, I got a 2160 quote from them vs Radian being at about 1600. See if you can get a hold of their customer service agent or email them to get a quote:

2160 from fidelity NOT alt right? WOW. If radian is that much cheaper then that's the way to go.

I had Casey with Watermark and what a pain to deal with her. She doesn't sound like she wants to work. I gave up on her. Wasting my time and info to them and hard credit pulls.
Quote from LongN5823 :
Yeah I applied last Friday. I had someone name Mark. He locked my rate yesterday at 2.75% 30 yr fixed with $1500 credits. But with origination at $1499, and appraisal at $700. They still haven't sent me the LE and Loan Disclosure yet. Submitted a bunch of stuff and now they want me to submit credit card and form for appraisal. Not trying to do that till I get a LE. They have been kinda a pain to lock rate with.
Quote from JasonC8362 :
I had casey as well. I could never get her/him to clarify upfront costs (really vague like we'll take care of the origination fees) and would NEVER show credits on LE unless I went through the entire loan application process. I mean..I get it that you don't want others not to use your quote as a pricematch but come on you gotta provide a solid number at least in emails. I didn't like that so I decided to stick with loan depot. At BEST LC would have beaten by 100-200$ but I hated that experience just like you so I said to the hell with it.
Quote from tayninh :
Looks I'm not the only one with bad experience with her/him. Her/his emails are not very businesslike and unprofessional.
Quote from KaatuPaadi :
Ask for greta. PM me if u want contact name. She is really nice.. Gave me a great rate b ut Im too far with better.. So cant switch I guess

Funny, I got a LE in email just a few minutes back but the numbers do not line up to what the original quoted numbers were:
1. I see an Origination Fee which was quoted as "No closing cost"
2. I see only a $3000 credit vs $3500.

Those 2 amount to almost a $2000 increase in charges and would not be what was quoted Frown.

Shahhere

PS. If others cannot confirm what was quoted and on the LE i'll take them off the top of my list on the thread as those are the type of lenders I want to put out from the list, unless there is a good reason for it.

PPS. I see what they are trying to do by only giving me $3000 to offset my costs as I has an estimated cost of title for $1600....they added the Origination fee in to offset the credit essentially lol wth.

Loan cabin had 2.5% 500$ in pts for me. Can give them a shot.
With Loan Cabin's offer - Is there any other costs listed for A+B+C?

My escrow from my previous loan provider is sending me the check soon. Can't believe I just made 2k, $2,500 in AMEX credit, and lowered my monthly cost by $200. That 1k price match was the key...good luck to everyone trying to match/beat a competitor's price.

My loan officer said I should be getting the LE with the paperwork, but so far I have yet to receive it. I already submitted a bunch of stuff too.

Compare to High Tech Home Loans, which was much better and forth coming. I got my LE with the Disclosure and everything right away. Their A, B, C and everything was straight forward.

Did you apply or is this before? Did you lock?

I had an okay time for them to "try" to match as it was exact but better than their first offer. Others have had better luck after locking and moving along the process.

You dont lose anything in applying and going deeper in the process with more than 1 lender in this market; especially since they all want 45-60 day closings.

I doubt it as thats the downside of dropping a lender and even locking a rate as you might not be able to proceed for another 6 or so months with them or them not working with you in the future (assumption).

Anyone have personal experiences locking two applications with better?

It was asked above, but I'm wondering if anyone did it before, and just closed one.

With Better, if you got lucky, you got assigned a responsive and accommodating team. Not so for me, they said they would match, but they didn't follow through and stopped communicating. They also mentioned, if I found a better rate that I might as well go with that.

Anyway, mine is an investment property so it is a little different. Watermark gave the best so far (3.375%, no cost, no escrow). They also offer 3% with $2500 cost, but I figure if rate keeps going down, I can refinance again in 6 months.

We just signed our final disclosures and I'm at the point where it asks for a notary to be sent out to our house for a closing date this coming week. When will I get the task to upload my Amex card number to verify so I know I get the 2500. I haven't seen anything yet
I'm trying to figure out this too. We close tomorrow and I've yet to see anywhere to put my card number in. I emailed better earlier asking but no one has responded.
