EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

Locked in my rate at 2.75 today. After Amex, lender fees will be taken care of. I would have liked an even lower rate but with the deadline on Friday, I wasn't going to wait until last minute. Getting the lending estimates for Better to match can be a chore. Other lenders will talk rates over the phone but to get an actual estimate for Better to match you have to put in some work and hope they get back to you.

What are people keeping of proof of the Amex deal? I have the initial email stating Amex in it and a screen shot of clicking on the deal. I was told over the phone that I would be getting the credit. Was there a verification of the Card number at some point in the process?
An email from the BEtter team would suffice as they usually would "assign" you to the AMEX team internally.
And the deadline of 7/25 is for APPLICATION, as long as the loan closes in October you're fine. Even once you're locked in, I've read forumers still being able to pricematch - agree with you it is some legwork to get other rates but I think it is worth it! I also locked in at 2.75% will end up decently ahead (~$1800) after AMEX $2500 credit.

I got verification at 3 steps in the process.

First was when signing up for better.com/amex. it said "As an American Express® Card Member, you have access to an exclusive offer when you refinance a home with us at Better.com — including a $2,500 statement credit, a free appraisal with rush support, and a Better Dedicated Concierge. In order to receive the statement credit, you must close your mortgage by 10/28/2020."

Second was the task to input your card. Mine came will final closing disclosures. It stated "Please input the last five digits of your active personal consumer American Express Card where you would like to receive the $2,500 statement credit."

Finally, the day after funding, I got an email stating "Congratulations on funding your loan, bumoftheday! You can expect your American Express® statement credit to be applied to your account within 8-12 weeks."

Would you mind share your contact with watermark? For 280k loan my watermark gave 30 year fixed at 2.625% which she said it was lowest and would not give LE until I "lock" with them. I'm trying to see if I can work with another to get a better experience!
Lock with them! When you lock... They send you the initial disclosure with the LE in it... Usually via DocuSign... Then take that LE and use it for Better. Leave the DocuSign stuff unsigned and sitting in the breeze.

If you are worried about what they think, tell them you got a better offer with another company. Then move on.

Just like these companies want to play hardball, keep letting them throw their breaking ball in the dirt. Then... When you get the LE match, you finally get the financial pitch you desire and hit the walk off to left.

There should be no appraisal charge. Outside of that, if you did the link it should be good. There's not really a confirmation per se but you did it right taking a screen shot

I am currently trying to refinance with better.com.. In the final stage.
I locked few weeks ago. I told them interest rate went down. They told me that they cannot re lock the interest rate but if I can get a better offer they will try to match it.

Is there any other online site I can use to get rate so that I can request better to match it?
My loan amount ~220k
This thread is full of other lenders.

Better got back to me, there offer is complete trash compared to WM, not sure what is going on. There offer is A+B+C = $4582 with 0 in lender credits.

Has any one had this experience? i thought they would def offer some thing better.
I'm getting the same trying to go from 3.375% 20 yr currently, applying for 2.5% 15yr refi (no cash out), credit score 775, $187k loan, LTV 45%. No credits and a+b+c is almost $5k EEK!

Don't waste your time.. better is refusing to match anything under 2.5% .WM offered me same rate as yours and lender credit 3k tried with better but they refused to match. I'm moving forward with WM.
Mine is a 15 year. Is yours too a 15 year. On a 15 year below 2.5% looks common these days.

I am in final stages with a task for reviewing and acknowledging initial closure disclosures, review and acknowledge closing best practices,

Questions:

1. Do I need to see a task at this stage for entering my amex card number ?

2. There is a task that says "We expect your loan to fund early in August. Please do not make your August mortgage payment as it could adversely affect your required cash to close."

Do I need to turn off auto pay for my current lender or what should we do here?

Thank you.

LC is notoriously slow. They replied to my request from a week ago. I just submitted a full app with them. So let's see what they do
