Great price and cheaper than an Accord. Too bad you can pretty much only get them now in CA only...
Being in CA, I am pretty glad Honda did this. Yes, it's a self serving comment right there. Currently around 325 base models in Socal, and they have moved less than 50 per month in the past few months (ever since they dropped the incentive from $7K down to $4K).
We bought one for $27K during the tail end of the $7K promo. Looking to get another, and dealers were saying that they were going to sell out (that was 3 months ago). Hopefully Honda Corporate will realize without that $7K discount, it just isn't going to sell as well as they hoped.
I'm going to sit and wait for what Honda does next; hope they come to their senses and realize they need to blow out the 2019 fast with the number of inventory they still have on hand.
The eGolf had a nice run, and I would have probably gotten that but I debated too long between another Clarity vs eGolf and missed the $10K discount by a day. Luckily there's a lot more Clarity (in Socal) than there were eGolf's.
For the extra $5K over eGolf, I'd prefer a Clarity with triple the range and substantially more space, but net $11K - $12K for 130 mile range eGolf was pretty good too.
too bad the deals are not as good as they once were in april-june .. i paid $25999 for mine total of $28518 out the door if they go that cheap again i will buy one since mine got totaled recently .. i may wait till april again and try to get the 2020 model

Standard model
But if someone gives you a good price, it may be worth it, since you could get the Fed rebate again.
