Great deal. Still holding out for a 6400 but if one was looking for the 6600 it might be something to jump on. Like has been pointed out the 6600 is getting in the range of full frame camera cost but, for the most part, crop senor glass is still less expensive.

Imo if you are ok with primes then apsc is a good choice still. But if you want f2.8 zooms then you should go ff since I just saw the Tamron 28-75 for under $700 a few days ago, and Tamron is coming out with a 70-180 f2.8 as well. On the apsc side, the Sony 16-55 f2.8 is the only f2.8 zoom option and it's really expensive. There's no 55-140ish f2.8 zoom lens for apsc

For those with experience, do you recommended this or Canon RP?

It's more of a acquired taste. Rp is trash but the r has got good reviews but it is said to not be on the level of the z6 or a7iii

Good deal, but still in double mind to bite it or wait.. considering this just released a month back... And also looking at the price history of the 6xxx series, I believe it will still go down below 1k (aiming for body only deals), but again it's just my thought. Someone with immediate needs of stabilised videos with eye tracking, this it it.

Agreed I think that is why the 6600 is not doing as well as it could. It is in full frame territory. They new Sony lenses are great but super expensive. I don't think that is the market for crop sensors. I don't understand why anyone, other than maybe a dedicated wildlife shooter, would want the 6600 over some of the 7 series cameras. Especially with some of the Tamron options.

I have a 6000 that I love and am going to replace it with a 6400 but that will be my last crop sensor.

Looks like they dropped the a6500 pricing down a notch to price the a6600 at this level. I'm guessing a combination of tariff and proximity to FF pricing has been depressing the a6600 sales. Now if that 16-55 would just drop another $400...
