Just don't try to purchase using a giftcard balance, it will error out and not let you complete the transaction.

Purchasing a few of these for my parents as Christmas gifts and for $9 well worth it!

the reason the gift card balance does not work is because it cannot be verified for recurring payments. whether you'll continue or not that's a different case, it initially sets up as recurring bill

3rd gen is latest, comes with or without clock but this deal only works for the dot without clock
