I am sure if you wait even more till 2021 or better 2022 BF, there will be even better electronics. 😛

Same here. I don't think they will refund the difference.

It's worth it to me to return it to the store and reorder online.

Anyone know how the Vega 8 benchmarks compare to integrated Intel?
Depends on which intel igpu you are talking about. The 10th gen stuff beats it slightly, the other stuff loses to it (any where from colossally to marginally).

Love the rose gold on pics 3-7 but other references who a light pink. Pretty sure it's light pink. Hopefully see more real life pic reviews. I feel like I'll see this go down further in the future.

From this review it says it's a 3000 series mobile apu: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Wal...260.0.html [notebookcheck.net]

Also AMD was weird with their naming scheme for mobile processors. The 3500u and 3300u are zen+ not zen 2. The 2500u and 2300u were original zen processors. In the walmart product description it also says "2nd Gen AMD Ryzen 5" which should mean the zen+ 3000 series processors.

Also the people from previous slickdeals link I posted earlier said they received the 3000 series processors.
3000 series were the intermediate mobile processors on the Picasso line (12nm).
The actual Zen2 won't be out until 2020 and they'll be 7nm.
Given Intel's issue with 10nm, I wonder if the 7nm will have any production issues.
Again, AMD will best Intel once they come out.

Regardless, they may be more energy efficient due to smaller size, but at 15W (max 30W for short bursts), no laptop can compete long term with desktops for CPU/GPU intensive software. You're better off with a desktop or dedicated GPU laptop.

What is the price breakdown for each item on your receipt? I think they lowered the price of the bundle items to prevent the return trick.
So, I did not want the laptop, just brought and cancelled to see. Breakdown down to 289 for the laptop, 8 dollar for the mouse, and 18 for the backpack.

The previous buy and return accessory was marginally better.

I have the 3200U version, and the Costco HP i5. If the question is power then the HP i5 is better in GPU and CPU is the 10th gen core is better in laptops and it is dual channel.

HP backlit keyboard is better, the Motile is too soft.

Motile M.2 slot one is NVME and the other is SSD. The SSD is occupied and the NVME is the empty. Motile beats the HP is one area that is design, the Motile is thinner and lighter. Feels more premium. The IR camera in the motile is good for Windows hello if your into bio-metrics. The HP has likely better warranty and support, Motile is ?. HP has only one M.2 slot, but is has a room for 2.5 in HDD or SSD.

This is a good deal for an i5 equivalent R5 system.
However, if you do not need a new laptop this year, I'd wait until next year.
1. AMD Renoir will be out and will increase competition.
2. Intel i5-1035G4 and G7 will be 12 months old and will have to come down in price to compete. Maybe the G7 will be favored over the G5 for these low end laptops to compete with AMD.

I'd expect similar prices for low end laptops next BF but with better mobile APUs and dual RAM slots, so IMO best to wait.

Since it is not advertised, I am assuming this is TN screen? Meaning it is pretty lousy, but hey what do you expect at 299 price.
It is a low grade IPS screen. It backlit bleed is better than some mid-grade ASUS laptops.

The review link posted another SDer says IPS screen.

"The Motile M141/M142 uses the exact same Chi Mei N140HCA-EAC IPS panel as found on the competing Acer Swift 3 SF314 and Asus VivoBook 14"

Yeah, but fwiw, it's more of a "premium" plastic.

This questionable, I am not certain it could be thin metal vs painted plastic. It claims to use a alloy that is difficult to tell apart.

Dang. Do I return my old one and get a new one? Why are they dropping this so fast. I don't know if I want to wait another week for $25.
