this is becoming an insanely good deal. it was a good deal at 399, better at 349. and now 299? it's one of those slickdeals i'm tempted to buy even though i dont need it!

Screen brightness is in line with it's spec of 250 nits...mostly OK for indoor use, but it's not really that bright. It is IPS and I'd say as good as anything you'd get at this price - certainly better than any TN I've seen.

Build quality is quite good. I actually opened it up to add RAM and storage and swap the WiFi card, and the material doesn't seem like it's plastic. I don't know why people complain about lid flex, it seems normal to me. Also easy to open, with only 6 screws.

Overall, performance is pretty good. With 8gb of ram (6gb usable, 2gb reserved for graphics which you can't change), it handles web browsing and productivity apps just fine. Haven't had a chance to do gaming on it yet.

Given the $70 price difference, I think the ryzen 5 version is worth it over the ryzen 3 version.
Why did you replace the WiFi card and to what?

What's the battery life on this thing? And what's the OS windows 10? I just want to make sure I'll be able to have the most updated version of chrome to play Stadia.

Thanks buddy, that's really very useful info. Is it possible replace the 8GB Ram with 16 GB stick? if yes I think that's great lappy.

Can this run any games?
read some of the feedback on product page, users says

Vega 8 GPU make this a fantastic deal. I can even play most games, even fairly intensive ones at the lowest graphics settings. (I tested Monster Hunter World, one of the heavier games I own, and was able to get it to run at around 20FPS at 1920x1080, making this GPU about 15x faster than the comparable Intel iGPU) The only thing I was disappointed at are the speakers.

Def NOT plastic. I have been using this laptop for a few weeks. It's magnesium or some kind of light weight metal(pretty cold to the touch) with ZERO FLEX. This laptop feels super solid and perhaps the most solid laptop I have ever held at this weight.
What's your take on lid flex complaint by reviewer?

CPU is a lot faster. also this is a 14 inch form factor so more compact and weigh over 1 puond less. The lenovo does have dual channel ram but it's intel so the video is still slower than this.
TY for the info. can you please advise on items i should get to upgrade wifi and ram?

Edit: Sleepy reply. Didn't realize this question was answered hours ago. Lurking deals and buying things before bed. ;(

I bought a few days ago when price was at 350. I ordered another one today at 299 and they promptly canceled my order like immediately. But as soon as I put in a completely different card for another order, it went through.

LOL good thing I have like half dozen cards.... So Walmart, we can play this game for a while Wink

Yes it is. Plus there is an additional one. So you can use a M2 SATA ssd and/or M2 NVME ssd
