anybody knows if this machine supports DDR4 3000Mhz, or 2400mhz is the maximum speed?

Installed the Intel Wireless-Ac 9260 2x2 Wifi card and so far it is AMAZING! No more dropped signals and speeds are at full speed all the time. Here's the one I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1 [amazon.com]

A few more notes on this laptop after a few days of operation. It was suffering from multiple lock ups and black screens which got progressively worse. I had to hard cycle it multiple times a day. As a last ditch effort before returning this thing I decided to upgrade the BIOS from 1.03 to 1.05 and so far everything has been stable! It's only been on the new BIOS for about 5 hrs. so let's see how it goes after a few days. I didn't upgrade the EC flash, just the bios.

I gave my wife the option of returning this to get the larger lenovo ideapad but she didn't want it because this thing is lightweight and portable.
Same story here. Returned and asked for a replacement

2400mhz is the max speed. This is the spec for the CPU, and (as expected) the BIOS doesn't allow overclocking.

Blah. Anyone think the price will go up AFTER Christmas now that it's at $329? It doesn't feel as slick now.

I tried to open the back plate to replace the wifi card, but couldnt open 1 of the screws. I think the screw is now stripped Frown. It looks like there r rusts on the other 5 screws as well. I notice the screws r made cheaply compared to other laptops ive dealt with...anyone has the same prob?

The slight res/brown on the screws is loctite which is used to help make sure the screw doesn't come loose.

As for stripping the screw, I've opened the back cover probably about 10 times over 2 laptops and haven't stripped it...but you do need to make sure you have the right size screw driver. I first tried one that was slightly too small and saw that is was going to strip the screw.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the screws were too tight. I've managed to strip screws off Lenovo laptops too, so I don't think it's an issue limited to Motile.

If you manage to open it up and change out the parts after upgrading everything you plan to do, grab yourself a bottle of loctite blue thread locker and apply to the screws. This will ensure that no screws fall out from vibrations that occur during the life of the laptop from use.

Is anyone else concerned about downloading stuff from motilecustomerservice.com? How do we know this is the official website? Also, it's not https secured so even if it is official, others can impersonate it.
Searching for "motile drivers" on Google does not give this or any site hosting the drivers.

Drivers need to be signed so that's probably ok. But you are running and trusting other executables and the firmware in there.

you could say the same thing to trusting your life on a chinese made laptop ....lol....There could be something built into the laptop firmware that will send back everything you do to china Wink
