Office Furniture Center has a used "renewed" Steelcase V2 Leap Task Chair which is fully reupholstered and new arm pads, new pneumatic lift cylinder and new carpet casters. I've had it for a month and I've been satisfied enough to recommend the deal. You can't tell it's used at all, except for the price of course.

This is a spendy chair, but worth it IMHO. I bought a drafting-height one (for nearly a grand) 8 years ago for my office. I sit doing cad, drafting, and report writing 7-10 hours a day and my (middle aged) body has never once complained.

Have you replaced any parts? How to clean fabric?

They do. I almost bought one of those, but the fabric felt "used" and the arm rests were an uncomfortable rubber style. One could certainly get one and be satisfied I think, but it wasn't for me. The new armrests and reupholstering were worth the money.

The gas cylinder, every so often, fails - [edit] this happened about 7 years into the chair life (aka last year), and I should say that I am every bit of 200# and I don't think I've had an OfficeMax chair ever last me more than 3 years, much less be comfortable over that time [/edit]. I informed the seller and got a new one in about 2 weeks. It's been 6 months and I haven't put it in yet because it's intermittent and it has only has an issue once or twice a month and I've been too busy to drop in the new one.

I just wipe down the fabric of the seat with water and a cloth. I can't say it's been "dirty" except for the occasional spilled drink. OTOH, it's black, so there is relatively little to see. YMMV if you get a white one laugh out loud

How do you select the color of the fabric? I couldn't select that before putting it in my cart, and the cart description only stated the frame color (black), not the fabric color.

Thanks for posting - have been looking for a good office chair for quite some time now. I initially ordered the Herman Miller Aeron but for the price it had to be perfect and I didn't like the hard seat pan rail under my legs so it went back.

I will try the Renewed Leap v2 from Office Furniture Center - they said they would reach out after the order is placed to select the color - its not selectable at checkout.

when it comes to used chairs (movie theater) always black light them! you can use a portable battery operated lack light to check for "spills aka leaks" (from the scary scenes) O.O
